Let's also blame the insurance companies for our Opioid Crisis! My insurance refuses to fill lidocaine patches, and the only option left for me are opioids, the one medication my pain doctor agreed to not prescribe but are now forced to the denial of a medication that was working, lidocaine.

I am so sorry. Lidocaine is so simple and very useful v.s. opeoids and all the issues, even if you aren't going to get addicted, the side effects are not worth it for long periods. Depending on why you need it, if it's body pain, that lidocaine roll-on stick instead of the icy hot for muscles, pain, ect, is something I am very thankful for. In dentistry, it's also pretty efficient.

What year did anything ever go down in price? It's generally known that everything goes up in price every year regardless of who's president. That's bc our capitalist economy is one of supply & demand, with prices set by sellers & providers of products & services, not by the executive or any other branch of government. Co-vid interrupted the supply chain, customer demand declined. When co-vid subsided, businesses raised prices to compensate for lost revenue & most haven't lowered them since & are simply price-gouging.

Housing up 22%? My rent has more than doubled since the pandemic. In 2019 my rent was $600. Today it is $1400. In January it will be $1500. It has gone up 8 times in five years not counting next January. My food cost has gone from $30 a week to $50 a week. I have not been able to afford a car in all that time. My healthcare has almost doubled in five years. I don't know where NBC or the government get's it's numbers but the are WAY off. In 2019 Housing was 32% of my gross income. Today housing is 70% of my gross income. In January it will be 75% of my gross income. That will leave me with no money for groceries my next biggest expense. I'm not the only one. I have multiple coworkers who are renting homes three + families each. One is renting a 3 bedroom hone with four families and a total of 18 people in 800 square feet sharing one bathroom with rent being $5300 a month in the hood for a low quality home.

Trump constantly saying that Kamala isn't smart, yet he's the one who can't see the difference between "no taxes on tips or social security" and "no taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers." Just to be clear, I'll spell it out. Trump's statement is too broad and too easily abused. If there are no taxes on tips period, then most businesses could easily switch to a tipping model to avoid taxes altogether, even big businesses like lawyers could technically work for tips. And since it's apparently legal for restaurants to charge mandatory tips on the bills, why would it be any different for a lawyer to simply turn his fees into mandatory tips? Instant loop hole, too easy. Kamala is verbally restricting these tax-free tips to service and hospitality workers, the places where you expect low wages and living on tips, where it would be much harder to abuse. In all likelihood, there will probably be a maximum by the time such a thing becomes a law, making it even harder to exploit it. As for why Kamala hasn't committed to not taxing social security, I watched a lawyer explain that one. If you remove the taxes on social security, that only benefits the wealthy. Most people who are living on social security don't make enough to have it taxed in the first place, and the point at which you would have it taxed is already high enough that it shouldn't hurt the people paying taxes on it. So what he's really saying is that he'll make it so that rich people don't have to pay those taxes, and in doing so rob the program of millions of dollars that will instead have to be made up somewhere else. Last I heard his plan was to raise taxes on imports from other countries, including food, so basically the rich won't have to pay for their taxes but the average American will pay more for groceries to compensate for it. Great plan, Donny boy. No notes.

@@maurits2597California is too large for one gas price, and there are 3 different octanes available (87, 89, and 91). And each local/city economy isn't identical; local prices adjust to what the local economy can bear along with volume. And ... gasoline distribution costs vary - cheaper cost and more volume to huge cities versus driving a tanker 90 miles down highway 1 to fill one gas station, for example. There's simply too much comparing apples to bananas in physically distant and volume-based prices. This is why everyone should be educated in high school on basic economics (if they're not sleeping).
