Why can't banks have safety checks for elderly accounts, meaning extra scrutiny when large amounts of money are withdrawn. So, if you are 65 or 70 years old and older, you need an extra approved relative to co-sign such transaction. I think that could make it harder for criminals.

Something I have never understood about people that drink alcohol. If you are addicted to the substance why not just drink it at your home? Why do they feel the need to do it out in public and then get behind the wheel? I once asked an ex about this situation who got a DUI and she could never give me an answer. Google it, but it's horrible for the environment, and if it's done anywhere near your house your groundwater will be polluted with gasoline which will make your home unlivable, your property value will tank, and you won't be able to sell your home. But on the plus side, the oil executives will be able to buy 3rd and 4th summer homes!

As the son of a geologist, that has approved fracking, I can say that regulations are in place to prevent consumer ground water from being affected. However, not all states have these regulations....... Generally, if fracking were to affect your ground water, chances are it's already affected by the oil in the ground...so, it's unlikely that your water will be coming from that source. At least, for city water... To explain fracking briefly, water is pumped into an oil reservoir under ground to push more oil to the collection pump.
