As an educator in America, please stop blaming COVID 19 for loss of reading and math skills. America's educational system was in trouble a long time before Covid 19 hit. Lack of respect for EARNING an education is the problem. All most systems do is pressure teachers to pass students along, even when they are not able to meet set required standards. High schools have become nurseries. Teachers are discouraged from waking sleeping student up during class. Parent are parenting. I've seen the quality of student engagement go down in my 27 years of education. Don't blame COVID 19 for Americans not valuing an education.

I glad I didn't have to raise my children in this age. As a single mother, supporting two little girls, I worked full time, went to school fulltime and fought to hang on to my teenagers while they were fighting to find their independence. I had to leave work several times just to keep them off the phone when they were grounded. With that said, I would never blame media if I made a mistake with my children. Parents need to find a way to stay involved in their children's lives. I did it, but it was so hard. With todays media, I doubt I could have kept a watchful eye as often as I would need to.

The only "solution" to prevent anyone from getting hurt by social media would be to terminate social media but it provides a lot of enjoyment for a lot of people: People keeping in touch and reconnecting etc. There is no way for Meta or any of these companies to stop the misuse by the users unfortunately. That's just the nature of the web. Anyone can pretend to be anyone and it's just unrealistic to hire enough people to monitor every single thing that gets posted by billions of users. That would take at least a billion employees.

Why do powerplants and critical infrastructure need to be remote controlled from the internet? These things were able to function before the internet existed. For security purposes, the internet connections to these facilities control hardware should be severed and facilities run off the net, even if it means someone has to drive out to substations to reset breakers.

Parents need to police what their children are doing on line as well. Social media Execs have responsibility for their sites but parents should be aware of who their child is talking to on line at all times. Perhaps social media should make their site available to people of a specific age only.

You know “back in my day,” we had a thing called “dial up internet.” Minors could share photos to strange adults all the time. Sure, you had to drive to the store, get your film developed, drive home, drive back, pick up that film, drive home again, scan in the photo, log in, attach that photo, and two days later “welcome. You’ve got mail!” But the point is, kids have been victims for almost thirty years!!! Back then however, we were told to remain anonymous. Never tell people where you lived, not even the state. Never tell them your age. Never tell them your name. A/s/l check was a no no. But now a days people use their first and last name for everything. There is no privacy when you give the world all your info!

Anything to avoid holding PARENTS accountable...I mean, that lady literally said her daughter was probably communicating with this guy while sitting next to her! BE MORE INVOLVED, do not blame companies for your failures as parents. Limit the time they spend on social media, learn how to say "NO" to them, and stop being their buddies, you are PARENTS, NOT THEIR FRIENDS! If that's too much for you, then you probably shouldn't have had kids, imo.

The claim that the world will become dangerously overpopulated has never been true. It was false when first postulated in the 19th century. It was false when The Population Bomb was first published in the 1960s. It is false now... by Austin Ruse Then in Sustainability Review article titled: Three clear reasons why overpopulation is a myth The author writes, "Apart from Africa, every region on Earth now expects more deaths than births in the coming decades" Written by Jared Wolf January 29, 2024

China’s government just reported that 9.6 million people were born in China last year, while 10.4 million died. China is depopulating and much of the rest of the world is, too. From 2012 to 2022, many countries in Eastern Europe lost population, as did Japan and Italy. Other countries will follow soon because every wealthy country in the world, besides Israel, has a birth rate below the replacement rate of 2.1 children per woman.
