Most companies overwrite their security tapes after a certain amount of time. For Boeing, that 'certain amount of time' happens to be a month. Other companies may only keep their tapes/discs for a couple of weeks. There may be a cover-up or there may not be a cover-up, but overwriting their tapes after only 30-days is just bad policy in and of itself.
