As a Native Floridian who has been through many hurricanes including Andrew, we don’t need the politics in this right now, what we need is compassion. I was on the north edge and had family in many of the areas of the tornadoes. It is time to put the ugliness/craziness to bed for good and come together as a nation to help people in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, etc. Stop listening to the lies, FEMA is on the ground and has been all along. 2 weeks ago we had Helene, last week I lost my father to dementia, this week Milton. I am sick of all the division in this country when people in this state are in need. To be the country we were on 911, come together STOP the hate.

A wood building can absolutely be as strong or stronger than a concrete building...and nobody wants to live in a concrete building.

I grew up in a Midwest area- tornadoes were part of every childhood summer..running to basements…Twister might be something people watch for fun- but I’ve lived it. Living in Florida now- sure you expect severe weather in the “bands of the hurricanes”…but not this kind of tornado activity..I’ve met many Floridians that have been shocked at the tornadoes…this wasn’t normal

You can build an hurricane proof building then one day the hurricane will take it out. I know someone who's neighbors made an concrete house ankered in. And well it was the old wooden house built an 100 years on Pier and beams that survived and the concrete one gone chewed up. It needed to be put back on the pier and beams but everything was okay.

It's not possible to build something like that in Europe. We are living in Portugal, and it's for bitten to build that paper houses.
