This story about "unclaimed" bodies being "donated" is the modern equivalent of 19th century grave robbers. It's not surprising, but, at the same time, I had hoped for better by 2024. In my state, you sign up to be a donor at the BMV and your status goes on your ID. Unless these medical schools have that ID or some other written indication of a person's wishes, they shouldn't be using these bodies. Also, nothing that is donated in good faith should ever be sold or leased. These families have every right to be outraged. This story is appalling.

It took out furniture and all kinds of things that were in people's yards. The creek had flooded its banks. The state had to send workers in to clean out the debris.
