As I understand from this video all the results are added manually. What is the function of the saved results on the tester in relation to the bluetooth function and the software. Both the Tester and the software are Megger, why are they not connected so saved results go straight to the software !!?

Great to see you working with Megger. I used their gear at the start of my career and was lucky to do a factory tour in 2019 to look at how they could improve production quality and speed. It was so good to see a UK Manufacturing company doing well. Great to read about recent investments as well.

@@artisanelectrics at 3:12 you can see a Bluetooth icon on the locking button. Could that button allow send data to the platform? Although the platform would need to recognise what information is receiving from the tester, and properly filling the form, e.g. Ze going to Ze field and PFC going to PFC field.

16mm tails are not a code. As long as: No sign of thermal damage. Main Fuse rating is less than tail rating. Or if overload protection is provided by fixed load / maximum demand being less than rating of the tails.

That looks like a really nice software. I like the option on the EICR for date of next inspection could be recorded as 'following completion of remedial work' other sheets only allow a period of time to be recorded, which when you've identified observations that need remedial work isn't really adequate. The finished certificate with the contents and glossary of terms etc looks really professional.

Another great video, I can’t help but think that Megger have really missed a trick though. Why haven’t they made a tester which links to the iPad via Bluetooth and once you select the test on the app, it sets the tester to the correct setting automatically, then sends the result directly back to the app? Surely this would save time and reduce the risk or error during data entry.

Maybe something they can work on!

@mattmcc72 2 жыл бұрын
I was going to say the same. It's great to see how good the software is, but it's been designed by an engineer. They need a UX developer to take another look, that constant jumping between the tester and the iPad can be massively simplified. It's not much more of a jump from this to make so that you use the iPad to describe the system and then the tester tell you what to test in order. Only having to pick up the tablet again to describe specific issues found. But Megger have jumped into the software market, I'm guessing they already know this. :)

Awesome video buddy. Just a point on the comment you made via meter tails being 16mm. The black plastic cutout/service head that’s there may only be capable of taking 16mm tails . Some of the terminal blocks and screws inside are really small and won’t take 25mm tails in them . We would send a Dno c17 code to them and they would be expected to upgrade the service head and cutout.

We would code 16mm tails between cutout and meter as FI if we are unable to determine the fuse size and type. If we can verify the fuse size and it’s 60A or below we wouldn’t code this as an issue. If we were down to change the board after the report we would insist on finding out the main fuse size one way or another and if we find we need to upgrade the tails (80A or higher fuse) we will get the DNO out to do so if it’s on their side of the meter. If we’re in a rush or forgot to contact the DNO then we will cut any seals and do it ourselves!!

Better to check the bonding on the pipe itself than on the connection. That's what's important after all.. and you only need to record 5x in the RCD as it's a 3omA, 100mA and above you record 1x. (New to 18th edition)
@AAW-Electrics
@AAW-Electrics Жыл бұрын
You should test the main protective bonding at the connection AND on the pipe at 0.5 m to 1 m away from the bonding clamp! (See Fig. 2.16 on p61 on GN3 (18th Edition Am 2)

@artisanelectrics
@artisanelectrics 2 жыл бұрын
I used to use the NICEIC one but it’s so limited and the reports don’t come out looking very good especially when you have extra text which it doesn’t give you room for you have to create continuation sheets etc. It’s a massive time saver using CertSuite as well.
@acelectricalsecurity

Aren't you paying for each cert with the NIC which can end up being costly as opposed to purchasing outright, when the certification software first came out, the NIC only licensed software, then they seen an opportunity to make even more money with their own.

I know this is sponsored by Megger but I'm always a little suspicious when there's nothing that's a bit shit about something. Not accusing of anything untoward here at all but there must be some things you'd like improved or have not been included or are generally annoying. You have a lot of viewers now and they look to you for an honest warts and all appraisal. In my experience, being paid by the manufacturer does not lend itself to the best appraisals of things unless, of course, there are things you didn't like or didn't work properly or were, in your opinion, totally missed out. Not saying you have to go as far as Mr Savery in his brutal appraisal of EasyCert. I know this wasn't a review of the software in and of itself and it was more how you use it, but we are getting near the line of advertising. I'm sure it's awesome software but it had the feel of being closer to an advertisement. I still watch every video!!

I can’t see any thing that would lead me to think it is not safe for continued service. Other than that you don’t have enough room to add an EV circuit.Point two is this video about you or mega ? Why are you promoting mega there are lots of different brands out there that are just as good even better.
