It's hard with her and DJPK, and you'd think it'd be easier with Robotnik, considering the Phantom Ruby is from a Sonic game, but I actually found a lot of success with the Rhythm Masters and L&D.

both rhythm masters and l&d have the ability to summon higher health minions, which are able to more effectively draw aggro from the crown and allow you to attack it they're both duos as well, which is also useful it's interesting that you encountered the phantom ruby form of the crown during your first playthrough i thought you couldn't encounter that unless you had a specific robotnik matchup, which isn't possible during a standard story mode run, but i guess that isn't necessary this is why i love kfad2, you learn something new about it every day

I'm the first person I know to redo this fight, so I don't know much about rematches, but I hadn't heard anyone else say that it wasn't normal to get the Phantom Ruby in your story mode match. Huh, that's interesting! I didn't end up using him all too much, but I did spend a lot of time leveling up Robotnik hoping for a Sonic Forces, so maybe that factored into it? You learn something new every day, I guess.

Don't forget : 1) Every character pair that has a dual rip can also do Dual Techniques that are the names of those rips. For example: Dr Robotnic and Weird Al have the Invincible technique that can grant everyone fifteen seconds of invincibility. 2) These techniques can normally be only used once per battle, but for multi-phase battles, they get refreshed and can be used once per phase! 3) If you use Papyrus and MissingNo to summon Sans, Sans will show up but will use UltraSongThatMightPlayWhenYouFightSans instead of UltraMegalovania. So maybe save their MP for more effective attacks.

@@zoneoftruth it may very well have been you leveling up robotnik for sonic forces i've done quite a few runs through the game, but i haven't experimented much with how leveling up characters affects the boss battles but yeah, there are a few different possible crown forms for phase 2 iirc there's the normal crown, phantom ruby crown, mecha crown, demonic crown, and angelic crown from there there can be some small differences from run to run, but those are the 5 distinct phase 2 forms (at least from the research of some of the kfad2 groups i'm in)
