I honestly didn’t like this when I first played it since the first fight was too long and was too slow on my old pc for my younger self to tolerate. Now that I’ve got a better pc and more patience, I think it’s a great episode.

I figured out, you use Shadow's SP bar until only half of the last gage is left and still do maximum damage with it.
