Dear Ryan, is it possible that a card consumes it's own good? Btw, what a great 'how to play'! Top notch, in terms of content and visually. A galactic masterpiece!
@NightsAroundaTable Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! You’d have to give me specifics, but i think it’s technically possible? The abilities on the cards trigger in different phases, and if a power says you get to consume “a” good, i don’t think the game cares where that good comes from. If the game was farming-themed, you’d just be harvesting a crop.

@NightsAroundaTable3 жыл бұрын
i hadn't noticed it, but couldn't figure it out on my own. Resident RFTG expert @dmexplains to the rescue! If you see a highlighted phase on a card, it's because that card also has text on it to explain the benefit. No highlight? No accompanying text.

While the symbols, I'm sure, are meant to compress info into something very dense that can be evaluated at a glance or from your peripheral vision, it seems like a lot of this stuff takes up just a square centimeter or so on each card and can easily just be printed as words like on Magic or Dominion cards while leaving reasonable margins for aesthetics and clarity. You wouldn't even need the phase numbers anymore! Just their names. I dunno. Just a thought.

Does it break any rules to use small glass tokens on the cards as goods? Instead of drawing a card from the deck. This seems like a better idea.
@NightsAroundaTable6 ай бұрын
i know some people play that way. Purists might say that you’re goofing too much with the game and probability and distribution by not pulling cards out of the deck to act as goods. But it’s more philosophy than anything else. i wrote an article about it: nightsaroundatable.com/2020/08/28/15732/

this is a good one with lots of replayability value, but it's not the one i was looking for i can't remember the name, but it's also a space themed game, you start with a core, then you draw tiles from a bag to add them onto your core, there are food courts, embassies, meeting rooms, production areas, then there are some areas that require power cubes to function, you start the game with 2 power cubes but they can only power something only 2-3 spots away from the core, but you can also place new sub-cores for more power cubes, some rooms that you place get bonuses when you place them, but some don't get their bonus effect till the end of the game ring any bells for anyone? i used to play it all the time but the name is eluding me i can't find it online
