I mean yeah. The only difference is nightshade is about possibly a ninja fighting off machines in a dystopian modern day setting. While Bayonetta revolves around the last living umbra witch who wakes up possessing the left eye of jubileus and has to fight off angels and demons who are invading present day earth. Ironically in the second games both start out on a stealth bomber.

Extremely underrated game and undeserving of criticism. Shinobi was great game once a player "git gud" after many hours of investment. But Nightshade was a more playable Shinobi, and was more polished in alot of ways. And Hibana is one of my all time favorite character design. This was a damn good game, and thanks again Shadowserg for giving the spot light on another hidden gem. You freaking rock.

This is the og Bayonetta. Awesome game, and a good followup to the PS2 Shinobi, I wish they'd made a 3rd installment in this series, personally. I remember playing this on Hard after beating it once, I had ALL the coins for the final outfit, but I couldn't kill Hellspawn Queen...I'll go back for revenge one day. Finally got my own copy and beat it. Gameplay wise I think it's better than Shinobi. Story is a little weaker though. Playing as hotsuma in this game is incredible though.

I cried when Hisui's battle started. She was sad and angry that her father-figure was gone and even though Hibana was blamed, She was too upset to listen to reason. During the post fight scene, I cried some more when she wanted to die, as she had no reason to live. I was happy when Hibana, acting like a older sister, gave her a purpose so she can keep on living. It is true they are sibling students, having been taught by the same master. I just hope Hibana explains to her what actually happened and her master's final wishes be known to her and maybe Hisui will decide to help Hibana protect Akujiki as that would be to honor their master. I hope they make a sequel to this game someday.

Unfortunately original developer behind Shinobi games was demoted in 2018 (after bad sales of Valkyria Chronicles 4). Team Sonic is bad with making action games and they proved that with Sakura Wars rebot (well it's bad developer even with Sonic games sometimes), RGG Studio milking Yakuza forever, AM2 milking mobile game with Hatsune Miku, and thats all what they got now in SOJ. The only hope now is outsourcing to decent developer like Team Ninja, Platinum Games or Fromsoftware, but Sega is too poor to that. But in latest financial report there is logo with Shinobi in ,,potential revivals'', so there is little hope.

I'm at the boss fight 19:00 and everytime I try to one shot the boss by doing tate on all the other enemies, the stupid game auto targets the boss randomly instead of the rest of the enemies. So I only kill 2 or 3 enemies and then auto target the boss, hitting him, ruining my 1 shot kill. And the camera is ass too, half the time the targeted enemy is off the screen and you can't even see who you're targeting. You just see the blue arrow aiming in that direction.

The Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden series existed around the same time. However, the first Ninja Gaiden game was a side-scrolling brawler/beat-em-up with some platforming and ninja elements instead of a hack-and-slash game like the Shinobi franchise has been throughout the entirety of its existence, Gundam Kira.
