Sure, sure, sing original goth poetry on KZbin and you're "cool" and "bringing the genre back." But when *I* do it drunk at 3AM in public park, somehow I'm a "public nuisance" and "disorderly" and "need to go to rehab and get my life together."

I KNEW this song sounded like Molchat Doma! You need to cover one of their songs next. Your baritone voice would compliment one of their songs quite well, especially if you were to put in the grimdark setting of Warhammer 40k; perhaps Space Marines II?

Poetry is much more enjoyable for me when it is being sung. Not bashing on recitations or reading it ofc, just a personal opinion. Consider checking out the venerable Leslie Fish and her album of Kipling's poems as songs. I'd reccommend "Roman Centurion's Song" and "Song of the Man's Side". And while you're there, stay for some space and fantasy folk, and an ancient Star Trek fan song or two. I think you might enjoy her works, and I would love if you happened to cover some in the future.
