Without a doubt, the best story about Dick remembering his past in the circus is "Regarding Robin", from the comic book series based on the 2003 "Teen Titans" show. In this story, we see a narrator recounting Robin's sad feelings on the anniversary of his parents' death, but also how he also finds comfort and emotional support by his friends (especially Starfire) during that day. The comic ends with Robin and Starfire kissing as the narrator, who turns out to be Batman, observes them from the distance with a smile, knowing that his son is in good hands.

I kinda immagined Dicks nighrmare would be him becomming as coldhearted as Bruce, with the cape and cowl being used as a symbollic noose arround his neck, or maybe a giant armored batman cowl as a curshibg weight or a boulder hes running from, that tied with the idea that Bruce himself feels like hes lousing his edge, and with Dick supposedly taking a more central role in the DCU post dark crisis maybe its a fate he almost feels destaned for,

I liked the backrooms bit. Honestly.....now that I think about it, I would love to see a mini series with Batman getting stuck in the backrooms and trying to find a way out while winding up in different levels and encountering the various dangers.

@@teleportedbreadfor3days I cant. Its a sign of lazy writing. And also its gonna be a detail thats dated in a year already. Its an internet ARG/Meme thats already dying out after overexposure. This is a writer who cant come up with their own idea of a transitional space for dreams. Which funny enough isnt even how you enter the backrooms but you are supposed to randomly noclip out of reality IRL. So finding them here in a dream feels even more out of place even if its the most dreamlike space ever.

@@teleportedbreadfor3days Literally how are they too specific and unusual? Well I suppose they are specific in the way that they arent a dream space. Which this story is taking place in. So having the backrooms in it is nonsesical. Also, yes it is very much lazy writing when you cant come up with your own interpretation of what the backrooms represent. I have done so countless of times. Cause I actually write and develop worlds as a hobby out of passion, even ones that connect to liminal spaces as a literal transitional space. I would share one of the older stories in which such a space exists for story reasons which is NOT inspired by the backrooms cause I created it a literal decade ago, but sadly Im a bit too protective of my ideas when hacks like this writer inserts a literal internet ARG for no good reason into a story that has nothing to do with it.

I wish DC would have a separate universe like the ultimate one where superhero’s are allowed to grow particularly Batman, he goes through the usual and has the no killing /gun rule but someone in his life (maybe dick) tries to argue that by letting people like the Joker live he is in turn keeping the cycle continuous, and explains the city is too because they don’t execute him, thousands die everyday, and hits him with the “if you had the chance to save your parents but only by killing joe would?” and Dick says “If I had a chance to save my parents but by killing their killer I would” and that breaks Bruce as he realizes all these years he’s been letting a mass murderer loose and if he kills the Joker it wouldn’t be murder just killing, Bruce has growth goes through therapy and at the end we have a bruce that has mercy for the villians but will kill them if they are a threat and don’t want to change, like he wouldn’t kill someone like Mr.freeze but the Joker has to go, and in that fixing his relationship with Jason and we get to see all the stuff we want with these hero’s would be cool.
