One of my draws to Nightwish is their positive energy. Being a heavy metal/hard rock fan most bands I listen to speak of doom & gloom. They are refreshing being metal and overall positive and cheery, and sometimes emotionally you just need that. Love them.

Nick, very good. Now note well, Floor sings "Conquering the darkest places" at the end directly to Tuomas on his podium. I believe for very good reason as the next song in the set list at Wembley, as this is, would be the diametric opposite of this and totally involves Tuomas. You'll get to it and hopefully you'll remember this.

The song is from the 8th album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, first recorded with Floor, and Kai on drums. Floor is right, this is just a fun song. An alpenglow is the reddish glow seen on mountain faces ,opposite the sun, when it is just below the horizon. A Jub Jub bird is a fictional dangerous creature, first mentioned in the 19th century nonsense poems, "Jabberwocky" and "The Hunting of the Snark" by Lewis Carroll. We Were Here !!, remember that when you get to their song "The Greatest Show On Earth".

Nick I love your Nightwish reactions, they are so pure and honest ❤ this alpenglow recording is so good because you can see and feel the good chemistry in the band in every minute. Did you notice how long Floors phrases were after the guitar/pipes solos? One of the great uplifting songs from Nightwish . Losing track of which you have done. 7 Days to the Wolves (this Wembley show)? Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (Buenos Aires)? Either of those next... Here's a comment from Tuomas: "When I was working on "Alpenglow" I realised I'm not guitarist enough to finish the song, so Emppu completed the riff."

Nightwish music just puts a smile on your face and ours as well. They have as much fun performing their music as we do watching and hearing it. Are you familiar with Henry David Thoreau the American naturalist, essayist, poet, and philosopher. A leading transcendentalist, who is best known for his book “Walden, a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings”. This song starts out with Floor explaining how good this song will make us feel. Ironically, this song is really all about encouraging us all to find our bliss and grab what life has to offer. Which leads to the ultimate poetic and metaphoric message in this song. Acceptance of the final stage of life as we become the music joining with nature and the beautiful aplenglow, with no regrets. Alpenglow is an optical phenomenon that appears as a horizontal reddish glow near the horizon opposite to the Sun when the solar disk is just below the horizon.
