Thats a direct quote from Wikipedia. 😉 The term Alpenglow has its origin in the european alps. In german we say "Alpenglühen" from wich a direct translation is Alpenglow.

Not trusting that. I heard Alpenglow from the original translation is the sunset reflecting off of a mountain peak/snow. As in the video background during the song. So maybe the above was just partial.

I've heard that Alpenglow is what we in the US and Canada call the Northern Lights. Just what I've heard. I could be wrong.

@@seattan No, the northern lights or "Aurora borealis" is something diffeent from Alpenglow. The northern lights are from the magnetic field of the earth and Alpenglow ist because of the mood at sunset (no shining sun at the evening = no Alpenglow)

Hello from the Netherlands . This concert was a little extra special for Floor Jansen Herself because her parents were present at this concert from the Netherlands and the Dutch press was also present to make recordings for a Dutch TV program "de Reünie". This is definitely worth watching because it also contains a personal story of Floor. and this also shows once again how Close it was that the whole story Floor & Nightwish almost didn't get together if Nightwish had also called 2 weeks earlier because Floor was still working on her Burn-out. thanks for the video . Alpenglow is part of what I think of as Nightwish's "feel good" songs. No matter how bad a mood you may be in listen to Alpenglow, I Want My Tears Back, My Walden, Elan, and Storytime. By the end of that 5 song set no matter how bad a mood you were in you'll feel better. There are certainly other song some people would add in but for me those are the "feel good" songs.

WE WERE HERE !!! this reminds me that you are coming up to one of the three of their trilogy of epic songs the 24 min masterpiece The Greatest Show on Earth tho it's shorter on the concert all I want to say about it is that you need to know it's about evolution and Richard Dawkins has 3 spoken segments on it. ps the song sounded great but the 2 of you were low volume.

I have to say, I’ve seen the Wembley version & Mexico City version, BOTH GREAT, but I think this Tampere version of Alpenglow may now be my favorite out of them all!!! I literally got chills with this one!!! Just like I prefer “Nemo” at Wembley over Wacken or I prefer “Yours is an empty hope” at Wembley. We all have our favorites! 🥰🥰🥰

Great song. Factoid: Alpenglow has been performed 50 times to date on tour, 49 of them on this EFMB tour. There are references to other songs (Walden is mentioned and "we were here" repeatedly which will be a key phrase in The Greatest Show on Earth later in the show (and album)). That's another common thing with Tuomas. His entire ouvre is tied together by cross references.

You missed Floor's intro to the song. “This song… this song just makes you feel great. I mean if you weren’t feeling much better than earlier today, or maybe even fantastic by now, This song kick you right into it. How about that?” It is a great song about celebrating life and very uplifting. As others mentioned it has lot's of references to other songs which is something Tuomas likes to do.

Alpenglow and Storytime are my two favourite short Nightwish songs, both are just really uplifting and make me move. Glad you are both having such fun on this journey - if you can fiddle with the volumes some more so your comments aren't so much quieter than the video, that would be useful, but I'm still really enjoying watching your enjoyment!

Alpenglow is such a feel good number. In Elan and Alpenglow, Tuomas certainly gave Floor a good start for ‘her’ Nightwish songs, as opposed to Floor renditions of earlier work. Tranquil and dynamic in the same track and THAT KEY CHANGE.

Great version! There are others, but I really like that you guys are taking your time with this outstanding concert, ty! As life is all abt balance, a little side note abt the sound level of your mic. So far we've had: - Sound of the music video too low relative to your mic - The mono thingy, and now - Sound of mic too low relative to the music video I'm sure you'll regain the right balance in the next ones ;) Cheers from Amsterdam!

My advice to them would be just do the sound as they like because 1) they won't please every one and if it is too quiet or too loud there is a thing on everyone's headphones called a volume button and it makes the sound louder or quieter and the listener can adjust their own volume. Must be something new that all them who complain haven't found yet :P. 2) Most people don't give a f**k as long as they can adjust the volume and be able to hear it themselves. But anyway just my opinion to them.
