And Emppu seems like the guitarist most happy just to be wherever he is. I wish I found Nightwish when Jukka was still with them. I never got to see themvlive and don't think I will. But my life has been quite affected (in the best ways) since I encountered Nightwish and seeing so many people in tears in these live videos affirms my position. :)

Stunning! I'm so glad people still remember and honor Native Americans. My grandfather was full blooded Cherokee.
@stefanl51838 жыл бұрын
Well, unfortunately there's no honor in this performance. You see the guy here, John Two Hawks, or John Allen Hill, which is his real name, is a fake. He's just a white guy who spent some time in the tanning bed and dressed up like a native American. And the lyrics he's singing, which are supposedly in Lakota language, are actually just complete gibberish. All of this came out a few years ago when a true native American who speaks the Lakota language started a thread in the nightwish forums pointing out that the lyrics were complete gibberish. Pretty soon people began looking into Two Hawks background and easily discovered he wasn't even Native American. Nightwish then closed the thread and swept the whole thing under the rug. If you don't believe this just google "John Two Hawks fraud" and you'll soon see. So, instead of this being an "honor" to Native Americans, it's actually an insult!
@IzayoiMeiHigu8 жыл бұрын
I think it does not matter if he is a real native american. Is just about the intention :) And this song is beautiful :) and brings honor to those who don't get offended at this ;)

Stefan L actually it can't be put that black and white. First of all, they were located in Finland, there ain't many Native Americans there so their options have probably been limited to get one. Second, they might not have known at the time that he wasn't legit, you say yourself that it was only stated Some years after by another Native American. And before you say, that they should just have said so (Idk the case, Idk if they did), only a very limited number of people would believe them. Third, this woman says she has Native American blood in her, even though there is a difference between the tribes and varieties in the language, she probably knows more than a person who just read an article. Personally, If I look at this as if they hired a jew to sing in Hebrew, to get a perspective more relatable for myself, I think I would be happy that they tried. :)
@@ICANanimations I think she called indian because in some South American countries like Brazil we call native people 'índios', it has nothing to do with people from 'India'.

It's because what he has written is gibberish. He's not Native American and doesn't even expressly say so these days to avoid being sued for misrepresentation. It's not his culture, and he couldn't even get the words right.

@@MetalPersonJ And it's such a PITY! This song for me was one of Nightwish peaks. 💔
@Wolf-ln1ml2 жыл бұрын
@@MetalPersonJ Considering how many people in the USA say that they are part German or part British or whatever, and how little they _actually_ know of the language or culture (and how they'd get laughed out of the room by any "actual" German/British/... person), John is far less of a fraud than some 50% of all people in the USA... But do Germans/British/Italian/Indian/... people make a fuss about this? What's the point of the outrage and "It's a faaaaaake!" shouts by all the Native Americans? It doesn't even come close to how Hollywood has managed to build fairly strong associations of "Germans=N*zis" and "German=harsh sounding language", or how the locations of the US bases was pretty much entirely in the south, so there's the "all Germans wear Lederhosen or Dirndl" thing, all of which can be _somewhat_ annoying, but I would _never_ demand that it should be illegal to (mis-)represent us like that. Why all the whining instead of shrugging it off as nonsense and occasionally correcting misconceptions when it becomes important?

Ileż pięknych pomysłów ma Tuomas Holopainen... - WSPANIAŁY KOMPOZYTOR ! Niebywałe jest to połączenie muzyki Nightwish z elementami indiańskiej kultury. To jakby scalanie epok, łączenie dziejów (ciągle dla kogoś tragicznych). Wszystko tu ma swój sens i smak : muzyczna kompozycja, wtapiający się w nią przenikliwy śpiew, gra i taniec Indianina, wokal Tarji, gra instrumentalna członków zespołu. Kolejna dla mnie muzyczna niespodzianka. Jestem pod wrażeniem...
@andrzejgajos624610 жыл бұрын

Z dużą przyjemnością wsłuchuję się zarówno w : Nightwish, The Heart Asks Pleasure First (cover) w jej interpretacji ( nieistotne czy wcześniej z -obrobionym głosem-), jak też w nowe, oddzielone już od zespołu utwory (Anette Olzon 'Lies' Official Music Video from the new album 'Shine').
@agnieszka431910 жыл бұрын
POZDRAWIAM
