"This is the most personal song I’ve ever written. My testimony for the whole world. With this song I want to apologise to everyone who deserves my apology. It also makes an “I don’t care” -statement to the ones who deserve it. The song is also about what Nightwish means and has meant to me. It (Nighwish) is everything, without it I’m dead. I have created it and it has created me. When I pass away, this song’s lyrics are what I wish to be remembered by: An Ocean Soul." Tuomas Holopainen

One of the best reactions to this song I have ever had the privilege to see, and I do not say this lightly. This is a deeply emotional one, for every listener for their own reasons. One thing that can be said universally, is the voice and presence of Floor. And as an aside, there are few who can pull off the Till Lindemann moves (in the lead part to the end crescendo). Floor nails it!

If you loved the first part of the song and the softness of her voice you should watch her version of Shallow (Lady Gaga) on the Beste Zangers TV show. She outdid Lady Gaga in my opinion. She also did a version of Phantom of the Opera with Opera singer Henk Poort. D6 for 8 seconds. All of her songs in this programme are incredible and she sings in 4 languages German, English, Dutch and Spanish.

Nobody else can compose and perform Like Tuomas, Floor and Nightwish. Tuomas writes performances. Another commenter said, "They're like gods... with instruments." There is so much genius in this work that it is difficult to know where to begin. Everything, from the stage set to the lyrics to the music itself has a purpose. Floor's heart-rendingly beautiful performance is beyond comparison - only she could deliver the emotional truth of this work. There is so much more here to understand. Note the swans in the background - these are the swans of Tuonela, said in Finnish mythology to be the conveyors of souls to the afterlife. Note how the boy has his arms raised in the hope and the longing of embracing that journey, yet - there he remains. It's worth a listen to Sibelius' The Swan of Tuonela to see where part of Tuomas ' inspiration came from. Here's Herbert von Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpvcfYqlf9ung6c. Exquisite. Emppu's ravishingly beautiful solo is David Gilmour class in the way it conveys the sadness, the anguish of a soul who has been left behind in a lonely and forsaken world. It's a cry of anguish, reinforced by the funereal march of the music behind and complementing the solo. You'll hear that same sort of expression in David Gilmour's last solo of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. I always felt that towards the end, it became the funeral march of a lost and tormented soul. All of the anguish and regret of something glimpsed and lost is distilled and channeled into one extended searing cry. So it is with Emppu's solo, yet it is so deftly and effortlessly woven into this masterpiece of Tuomas' that you don't quite realize what it's doing to you. Note that there is none of Emppu's usual smirking or goofing around in this one. He is dead serious (excuse the pun) and it shows in his expression. So much so that he has to turn away from the audience when he is done. Now this is going to tick some of you off but sincerely, I don't care. Floor is the goddess that Tarja never was, never will be. Tarja's operatic talents are beyond dispute. You can admire her talent as you would an exquisite work of art, but somehow it's always at arm's length. Tarja lacks the emotional depth and sheer empathic power that Floor has. Floor becomes what she sings. And Floor can sing your soul right out of your body. There is only one other talent that can stand in the company of Floor, and that's Simone Simons of Epica. You'll hear what I mean in performances like Unleashed and Kingdom of Heaven (part 3). We are fortunate to share this worldline with these two incomparable goddesses.

Chills... Just chills.... And tears about fall with that soft tone, I have a soft spot for Dead Boy's Poem, is so sad, but delicate, so special. It made me fall in love with Tuomas' songwriting And fun fact: this video made me realize Emppu (guitarrist) has blue eyes lol I imagined they were light, but still... Also seeing him so serious is very unusual but it fits the song's mood perfectly

Dear Jacqueline... First: I think all Nightwish-members ánd their family (us all), are exc. these kinds of people you talked about, in the last part of your outstanding warm and beautiful reaction. Second: when Floors incredible voice (this huge and incomparable 'instrument') has been left 'dry', so, not a single important effect been layed over it, she belongs to the very few real artists worldwide, who sounds so deep and warm...her vocai capabilities are so 'in control'! Jacqueline, thnx for your honest, genuine reaction...it helped loads of people

Tuomas wrote a song on the latest album which touches upon what you are talking about at the end of the vid. "How's The Heart" asks just that. It also has a nice little part about Floor and Hannes meeting, getting married, and having Freja. You can see Floor's eyes light up on the lines, and she and Troy did an acoustic version for Planet Rock( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4rXnIOme76thdE ), and for one of the Live Streams. How's the heart Underneath the silence? How's the one Drowning in the mire? Let us sound a human paean Come in, the fire's warm Burn the rope and dance some more

One of my favorites from Floor and the boys. What an ending! This is a very emotional and personal song for Tuomas. The small child's voice represents Tuomas speaking. When asked what this song was about "Tuomas has said about this song, that it's about if he were to die tomorrow, what would he want to say to everyone that he loves, and that love him..." Notice the small boy on the screen reaching out to the flying swans on the screen. The swan is the guide to the afterlife in Finnish mythology. He is reaching out to implore them to take him with to the other side. A beautiful song filled with sadness from an unfulfilled destiny. Loved it JVB! 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏💎😊 Your ending commentary sounds like you need to check out a new song from Nightwish. "How's the Heart"

You should really hear the Tarja version of this as well (if not for us, then for yourself :)). It is just as beautiful, but the vibe is different, darker and, dare I say... more Gothic? Very fitting for the song and its subject matter, and that was the original version, you know?.. This was arranged a bit differently for the 2018 tour.

Hi Jacqueline! Nice to see you again! I like this song, also "Slaying the dreamer" from the same show! But i like the whole conzert in Buenos Aires '18! Maybe you will make an reaction from another band so between your NW reactions, from EPICA the song "Unchean Utopia" maybe, the version from the "Omega Alive" conzert or the official live video from Brussel/Belgium in 2015 what i also really like! Simone is on fire there, i love the first minute from that song! And i would wish you could do an reaction of the Tristania song "My Lost Lenore"! The version with subtitles posted from My Agony - they make an very nice video for this song with pictures in the way of Lois Royo or Fictoria Frances pictures! There is no really good live performance video, if you're a fan ok but for first time hearing you should do the album or the My Agony version. Wish you a nice weekend! 🖤 Bye! 🖤

OK, next album Floor is singing on is Star One (Arjen Lucassen). The Ayreon albums are all based on a story to tell within a sci-fi world (his world). But Star One tells different stories in a sci-fi world (a lot based on existing movies and series). Here something that will blow your mind: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mF6YlmeGhdh4nLM
