Thank you for your response. Ever dream was never my favorite song until I saw this performance. And as soon as I understood the background of the whole concert and the lyrics of the song and saw Tuomas emotionally broken at the beginning, this song took on another dimension for me.

I've heard in other communities that this song was written because of Tuomas' unrequited passion for Tarja, that's why his reactions throughout the song, I felt a huge weight in my heart, one day after this recording Tarja was fired.

Tarja is the best > all Original-Tarja-songs are just covers without her vocals. Floor is a great singer and she is a friend of Tarja (she even asked Tarja for her blessing before joining NW) - so it's different. I prefer the Original < in both ways, Floor's Original songs have their own merits.

This is Tarja's last show, one of my favorites, best quality in terms of sound, and of course it's most dramatic. Tuomas has to cover his face and wrap his arms around his head more than once in this show. Jukka also has to wrap his arms around his head whole show. He said he had a migraine. Whether or not Tarja's impending dismissal was cause of that migraine, we'll hardly know. For Tuomas, it wasn't just the firing of a vocalist, it was also the firing of a school friend, a girl he had known since childhood. Videos of Tarja and Tuomas' high school performances on same stage have been preserved on KZbin. There were a lot of songs with love lyrics and autobiographical songs in that era. For example, Beauty of the Beast is about Tuomas and Tarja. I fell in love with this band back in late 90's and like many old fans I'm sure Tuomas had feelings for Tarja. Even everyone's favorite song Ghost Love Score sounds completely different with Tarja and Floor. In album and Tarja versions, this song is prayer of an obsessed person in love who is not reciprocated, it is emotionally charged with sadness and adolescent hopelessness. And in Floor's performance, this song already has a different mood. In her interpretation, unrequited love is not end and new love will come and there is no need to give up and torture yourself. Do you understand message of version that was written for Tarja? Tuomas was obsessed with her. During Ever Dream, Tuomas has tears under his eyes at 9:13 . I've never seen Tuomas dismiss a girl band had so much trouble with, accused of all mortal sins, with tears in his eyes and with his hands covering his face. After all, Anette and Sami were fired quietly, peacefully and calmly. So I don't believe in what was written in that very letter, reason is feelings. P.S. I advise you to watch show From Wishes To Eternity in its entirety, there is also a perfect sound and this is official DVD of the band.

I just love this song! For me this is Tarja's song. I do like a lot Floor's version too. But I heard this song first with Tarja. I knew of this song even before I really got into Nightwish's. I wish that in the Floor's version, she would sing the end with Marko like in this one. The ending is so epic.

It sounds as Floor is screaming in parts of this song like she is struggling in her version while Tarja sings it with such an ease. I prefer Tarja version.

Tarja was singing in harmony with Marco, that’s why she wasn’t going for the highest notes here. Just remember that the high notes doesn’t = best singing. But I’m glad you still understand that she’s an incredible figure in her own right.

If you did not know, Marko was a lead singer with classical training in his own right before joining the kids from Nightwish. He's 10 years their senior. He thought they were too stiff and unpolished is my understanding. But he helped them get past nerves. And when they just let loose, well that smile speaks for itself. Having a lady as skilled and trained as Tarja gives him a break from carrying.out double duty. And of course the ability to play. As in play like kids with the music. That they both can sing anything that is needed. They can belt, and get low or scream super high. And do so without hurting themselves. Well as much fun as it was for them to harmonize and perform translates to the audience. This remember is their.triumphant home coming. Back to the nation's capital. They showed the world what Finland has to offer. Now after conquering the world's stages they saved the best for last and are giving it out to the crowd in Helsinki. Leaving it all out there. And of course Tarja overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from the crowd can only say KITTOS!! ( THANK YOU)❤❤❤❤

I had also read an Article, Tuomas was so distraught at the start of the song, because the Band had already left a note for Tarja to read after the concert that she was Fired.........I love her voice and stage presence

After Floor joined the band, they kind of started cutting Marko’s parts out, or Floor just sang over his solos. It can be a bit annoying to old school NW fans.

Because she mostly belts over him, there is no harmony between Floor and Marco's voices like there was between Tarja and Marco. That's why they never performed Phantom of the Opera together, not to my knowledge anyways.

Tuomas was sad! He knew that shortly tarja would be kicked out of the band. They were close and I think it broke his heart having to do this. Seeing tarja onstage, she didn't know what the rest of the band were fixin to do. The letter signed by the rest of the band had to hurt, it's online, check it out. The song bye bye beautiful was meant for tarja, the song master passion greed was meant for tarja's husband. A sad situation for sure, but tarja has a killer solo career.

Definitely a new subscriber here, you seem to be a good dude! If I may, you might like the song Gethsemane, I highly recommend watching both the Tarja version (1999 Helsinki) and the Floor version (Buenos Aires 2018). Both are naturally great!

I think I read somewhere, possibly in the comments, that Jukka had a migraine during the concert, so that might be the reason he was holding his head occasionally. Or it just might be the fact that he considered Tarja a great vocalist and he wanted to show his appreciation. 🤷‍♀
