Thx Nikki for your reaction....dont know really how to analise the lyrics,but Hiraeth always brings me in a melancholy mood as the whole album does.Sometimes I think just let the music talk and everything is fine for me.Floor and Troy just humming UUUS and AAAs is so great and make this album my album of the year. I was listening to all three versions again today and remembered that Hiraeth wasn't on my server version of the orchestral version. When I checked all my NAS devices it wasn't on any so I got out the disc and found there is no orchestral version of Zhiraeth which seems odd as there is definitely it hestea in the band version. Perhaps not enough to make an orchestral version? The lyrics in the booklet don't give the first lines in Welsh which is what Troy sings (like My Walden). I love this though - both vocalists are incredible. The melody is beautiful too. Tuomas, of course, writes great lyrics An altogether wonderful track.

It has direct translation to portuguese: Saudade.

Hm I looked it up and it seems to match with what I looked up for a close translation and that's a melancholy, longing nostalgia. All seems to translate to about the same thing. 💛

@nikkireviews yes, but I was always told that only portuguese had a word for it. It turned out that welsh also have one. I didn't know.

@@gilsorger6548 I grew up with the same assumption. And it's sort of a myth in the Portuguese language, that no other language can directly translate Saudade. Maybe the Welsh also thought that Hiraeth couldn't be translated. It was cool to find out this bit of trivia.

You have to react to rock/metal music that people want to see. Your Slayer video got about a thousand views, a well-known band that many people want to see a reaction to, the secret is there.

I definitely wanna do more Slayer very soon. I try to mix it up and keep some variety, cause I stumble upon fans of one band and not the others - but I definitely notice which bands do better and make note to do more of those just cause it's what people want. I think Angel of Death might be next!
