So called D-tuning. I like to play this one as well, but I´ve used to do some tricks especially when returning to E. however, Very good playing!

You have a quiet sturdy picking and riffing technique, which makes your riffs quiet a taste. Unfortunately you play lots of notes which aren't in the original and I expected from your general style of playing a bit mor expression in the solo. Emppu uses a lot of whammy bar there. Tip: If you have trouble hearing the guitars in the mix, get yourself Audacity (freeware), make the soundfile stereo to mono and invert one of the two channels, this way most of the stuff in the center (like vocals, bass, kick, snare, ...) cancels out and you hear the guitar better. Another tip (especially when transcribing solos): Use Audacity to slow the audio down, I usually take half the tempo, this way you can analyze the expression of the guitarist, like vibratos, slides and so on. as i can see, another guitar player who loves nightwish, awesome :) great cover man, surprised that it sounds that good with sony vegas ( thought you could only use it for video editing and similar stuff ) Can you tell me what what ESP Guitar that is ? Mine has always been sturdyly on, ive never tried to pull it tho, but recently its become loose. i dont think its meant to be loose so you might wna glue it

+TeenAviator For me, at the start it was just looking at tabs and covers on youtube. Later i got a feel of where notes were played and what kinda sound it would make when i moved up or down different amount of frets. So my tip would be to just try to do it yourself, without help. That way i think you'll learn alot better than if you copy someone elses playing. Ofcourse if you're having trouble you can always look up help:P
