Tuomas wrote this one as a tribute and love song to his father as he passed away in 2021. While sad, it is also uplifting and positive, celebrating the life we have and the life of loved ones who have passed. Condolences on your grandmother. I'm 73 and I am the last man standing in my family. I understand the loss, yet I still live with hope and intent. Nevertheless, Floor's voice and this composition is akin to an emotional depth charge to the heart. Her face, good Lord, her beautiful face so expressive and adorned with nothing save her heart and soul just melts me to my core. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I do, and that's all that matters. Kiitos to all of you in Nightwish for delivering such epic and emotional story telling.

And secondly, I have lost count of how many times I have listened to this song and watched the video. Goddess Floor has the tears flowing every time. Good Afternoon! I lost my Dad a little over a year ago. Tuomas opened my head and poured Floor into it. It was just the right take. This is gonna be my favorite Nightwish song now. Thanks!

Jynger....as soon as I followed along with the lyrics, this 67 year old man had tears rolling down my face, as my mother passed away last November 30th at 90 years old. We all know that our time here is finite, but it doesn't make it any easier when they pass. This whole album is spectacular.... I already have my copy in my vehicles CD player. Tuomas and Nightwish should receive all of the Top Music Rewards in Europe, the UK, and every where else...except we know the US Grammy Rewards go to people who lip sync, and have not even one iota of the talent that is in Nightwish! Pure Floor. I love this song. Btw, this song was Floor's pick for a single, it made her cry when she first heard it (I had the same reaction to this song, it's so touching). Tuomas lost his father a few years ago and he wrote this song out of that emotion. The message is to enjoy life, as it's beautiful and should be celebrated instead of grieved when it ends.

Another Tuomas masterpiece. Always makes you think about life. This made me sad, but if you hear the thought process behind this song... it puts everything in perspective. Loss and mourning are inevitable, but don't forget to celebrate one's life and cherish the beautiful memories. Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad I guess.

I lost my Father 6 years ago, and my mother 5 years ago, both to cancer, listening to this, will bring me memories of them, and a song of sadness, beauty and hope at same time, its a song i would consider a masterpiece, love it!! I have listened to "LanternLight" more times than I can count....and my eyes start pumping out the tears everytime! This song is an absolutely fabulous song, that touches the hearts of everyone! My mother passed away last November 30, she was 90, and the song had me crying within the first minute! The whole "YesterWynde" album is brilliant! I have it in my SUV's 6 CD player. The more you listen to the song and follow along with the lyrics, makes the song even more emtional! I have heard Floor is going to do solo concerts next year...as I have heard she is going to put another solo album!

Floor said in an interview that this song was the hardest for her to sing. Every time she started singing she burst out in tears. It needed some time to record it. Gone is the hurt, the wait, gone is the warmth of day. A stray boat saved, happy memories engraved, on into a velvety night, beneath a lanternlight. Last night brought the heaviest of snows melting the songs of old, tying the boat, write a new one soon, sending me to the drowning moon, far above a lanternlight. Queen Floor, slays again. No words, hats down , superb song about loss , hurt and hoping. Tuomas draw again . My congats to the new arranger , who was direction until now London Philharmonic on Nightwish projects , is not Pip Williams this time tge orchestrator colleague of Tuomas , but Mr. James Shearman, for his epic orchestra arrangements and as I saw , the orchestra is much bigger that the three last albums. Big epic brass sections ( 7 Horns , 2 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Tuba/ Cimbasso ) . That is an epic section. 50 plus Strings , 4 Percussionists, Harp , Couples of Woodwinds with their doubles.) High octane orchestra. This time Tuomas went big and epic.

Didn't like this record first, but tuomas claws are starting to sink in again. Floor is always there. For some weird reason, nightwish takes longer to sink in for me but then again, they stay longer, too. They just do it differently
