This masterpiece is quickly becoming my favorite Nightwish song. Always brings a tear to my eye because it makes me think about my Father who passed away in 1998.
@janihaavisto792 ай бұрын
My condolences 🙏. My Father passed away 1 year 2 months ago at 68nyears old only. Mother passed only 2 years prior Dad. And my grandma died last January 4th. So in last 3yrs I've been in 3 funerals. I was so depressed for long time, but I noticed only month ago that depression had subsided finally. It takes time and there is no set timer when someone is supposed to be over those things. It can take 10 days or 10 yrs.

I have watched this video at least 25 or 30 times already. And Goddess Floor has made me cry every time. The band came to her home in Sweden to record her vocals in her home studio while she was recovering from childbirth. They blocked out two weeks to record her, but she knocked it out in six days.

Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad. My favorite song from the new album followed by An Ocean of Strange Islands.

She capital S is a real Goddess. She controls your emotions, can break the sturdiest of men in a matter of seconds with her angelic voice, has a lot of wisdom, remains loyal to herself, despite all the attention, is a true fighter when experiencing headwinds, and at the end an absolute sweetheart. It is very hard not to like her. Floor for president.

So Beautiful. 🤍 Tuomas wrote this as a tribute in memory of his father. Great reaction. Your emotions throughout & your words at the end is exactly what Tuomas has always expressed - we “feel” music, the same as his poetry / lyrics - it’s whatever they mean to you personally. And it again proves that “Good Music is Good Music”. Yes there is a theme that runs throughout this new album Yesterwynde but also the previous 2 albums - now known as a Triology - lots of Easter Eggs hiding in the music, lyrics & videos.

Lanternlight is, according to Tuomas' comments in an interview, "A love letter to all those we have lost." He wrote this shortly after his father's death. I'm paraphrasing from memory here, "It may seem like a sad song at first, but it really isn't. If someone has lived a very long, very full, and good life, we should not mourn excessively over their death. Rather we should celebrate the good they did in their life and the guiding lantern light of their memory that they left for us to follow." About whether this is a concept album: Yes, it is the third in a trilogy of albums that covers a theme. The first was "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" from 2015 which was a celebration of the beauty and magnificence of the development of life on Earth. The second was "Human:||:Nature" from 2020 which was a two disc album, the "Human" disc was a survey of humans' life and deeds both the good and the bad, while the "Nature" disc was Tuomas' "love letter to Planet Earth" and was a complete instrumental performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with no metal band parts. This album, "Yesterwynde," is an admonition to look back in time (wind back the clock or "wynde" back the clock) and learn to appreciate our ancestry and all the suffering and triumphs they had to endure in order for you and I to even just exist (Perfume of the Timeless), to look back at the history of leaders, both political and religious, using the media of their day to control the populace through manufactured, fake apocalypse and fear narratives of "never-ending doom porn" (The Day of...). It has a very 1980's pop vibe rather than metal, presumably because it mentions Orwell's "1984" as a canvas for the story. If you notice in the strange video, it begins with the band mesmerized by a giant TV screen bombarding them with fear and apocalypse stories as Floor puts eyedrops from a creepy bottle, apparently applying "filters" to their visual interpretation of the "truth." They all have leprous-looking peeling skin like the zombie apocalypse. Then they are all sucked into the vacuum of the TV screen and tumble helplessly and endlessly through the imaginary world of the doom narrative. Let's just say Tuomas gets it! He really GETS what is going on to deceive us all in this crazy psyops world we're stuck in.

Great reaction 👏👏👏 This is the most beautiful, soul gripping, heart stringing, fulfilling, masterful celebration for and remembrance of one’s father ❤️🔥 Tuomas is an absolute genius! My father, the strongest man I know and the cornerstones of my entire being/life, passed on cpl of years ago; on the waining hour of my Birthday. He had truly endured physically and emotionally for over 20 years after multiple strokes and other health challenges. His peaceful passing on was a true blessing; so much so that I had yet to shed one tear; until now! The combination of Tuomas’ yet another compositional and lyrical masterpiece and its manifestation by Floor and Troy finally opened my floodgates 💦💦 No amount of Finnish 🇫🇮 inner strength enhancing, emotion blocking, words (sisu, saatana, perkele) could hold back the desperately needed and necessary outpouring of emotions, reflections, remembrance, appreciation, flashbacks, re-lived joy and eternal love. Genuine tears do have healing powers! Tuomas, Floor, Nightwish, “Lanternlight” - ❤️🔥and thank you to The G.O.A.T. IMHO, there has never been, there will never be, another Nightwish!

Hello there Trash Talkers, great reaction guys! And Floor is amazing. But I want to point you to this voice also. I'm always on the lookout for more quality female vocals. I feel kinda ashamed that only just seven months ago I've discovered the wonderfull voice of Dianne van Giersbergen. Dianne is a Dutch spinto soprano, she was the founder and frontwoman of the former progressive metal band Ex Libris. Also she was the main vocalist of German symphonic metal band Xandria from 2013 to 2017. Dianne went through a life-saving abdominal surgery that she endured five years ago (2019) which wasn’t without risk: “while this surgery saved me, I could have lost the one thing that has been my lifelong companion, my refuge, and my loved one: my voice.” Dianne said. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKaXeKOHd6h0a6s Dianne currently is working on a solo album called "Soulward Bound", and with the third single of that album called; "A Symphonic Tragedy" through the lyrics, she opened up on that harrowing time. Previously released songs are "After the Storm" and "Unleash the Siren". And about a month ago she released her fourth single called; "Flameborn". So guys, if you like powerfull vocals, trust me this is one to keep in mind. I fell in love with that voice 7 months ago. Greetings from the first airborne division of the Nightwish army based at Maastricht, The Netherlands. This is Dianne van Giersbergen feat. Marcela Bovio - "Flameborn" kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5XNeGBnhLOEgqc
