Greetings from Finland, the home of Nightwish on the other side of the globe. Floor decided to make her cover of this song because her 4-year-old daughter, Freja, is obsessed with it & keeps singing it at home. As Floor is a perfectionist & far from a copycat, she made this cover a lot heavier and also vocally quite different than the original. Another sign of her being a perfectionist is the use of the AKG C12 VR tube microphone that costs USD 6000.

@@Garbox80 Vocalists are allowed to splurge on expensive gear as well :) My guess is she got that mic as a special present to herself. Live she uses the same bog standard $100 SM58 that everyone else is using.

@@BruderTux Well, I'm a bit different because I'm using an AKG D5 😁. Yes, an amateur band and a male voice makes a bit different, but the mic has the same price point though. I had the opportunity to try both SM58 and a D5 before buying and I liked the response in the lower range a bit better with that. But yeah, Floor probably has gotten a pretty sweet deal for that mic (or a gift like you said).

A couple of channels have put Floor's track to the original animation. Fits the animation perfectly and better than the original as Floor put some edge to it.

Shameless request to react to the band that led me to JINJER (who they toured with last year) after I saw them live opening for EPICA in 2016. I'm talking about The Agonist. Formerly fronted by Alyssa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), currently led by Vicky Psarakis and described variously as exteme metal, melodic death metal, deathcore, etc. A lot of folks would probably direct you to the opening track from their recent Orphans album, "In Vertigo", but I'd argue that "The Gift of Silence", while less intense, is a better showcase of their artistic diversity and technical talent. Rock on, my dude!
