Tuomas and Nightwish are maturing and even musicians evolve in their musical aspirations. Many fans are hope for a return to a more fantastical style. It may come after this last record of the trilogy regarding appreciation and awe for the human existence and everything it entails. Artistic music for a passionate and mature audience. Art first, philosophical awareness, and music in that order. I love it.

Someone says we wait for the song(s) again that made us fall in love with the band in the first place. But though they did the exact copy (of the style) of those songs, we wouldn't be satisfied, as we wait for the falling in love -moment to happen again. And it never will. Because also us are different now. The situatiom, time and place are different. I, on the other hand , am more than happy of the variety, to be surprised, to hear where they are going. (Bands that have 20 similar albums are mostly a bit dull..at least after 3 or 4 first albums) And think the band is there for the members, at a first place. A place for them to share vision, give their dreams a shape of music.. We are just lucky observers, receivers of the gifts. Thus I find it somewhat disrespectful when people demand something from the musicians. And even more, when done in entitled to get indignant -style. And yet even more when they tell the musicians they should always be they were as 20-year-olds... ain't that kinda crazy demand for people of 40 to 50 years old?? I mean, i definitely (hopefully) am not just the sane as when i was 20. How would it even be possible? Perhaps being embalmed?

Yeah, "WOW" was my first thought too!! That was Troy Donockley doing the male vocals. I like to think of this more as a mini movie. Seen it a few dozen times, and still finding details. Tuomas had said it would be over 8 minutes with the first chorus not coming in until 3 1/2 minutes. I figured it would be epic, but got way more than I thought. The album is called Yesterwynde (due out Sep 20). It's the 3rd in a trilogy of albums, along with Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human:II:Nature, all dealing with life, evolution and science, etc. They didn't know what to call the album, so they made up a word, Troy is the one who came up with it.

I'm between 50 and 60, and I find roughly my age and older Nightwish enjoyers to be the most relatable (not surprising). Perhaps because the band has been around for 28 years, or because many mature people like the style, there are a lot of appreciators up to the elderly. My message is this: thank you and rock on!

1st - Thank you for your service 👏 Great reaction! We know Nightwish, their mastery in anything they do; anything Tuomas does has a purpose (Floor’s vocals “blending in”). We love Nightwish like no other! So we should NOT BE SURPRISED, but I for one was absolutely floored, mind blown into millions of pieces 🤯, again! After consuming daily fast food music, Nightwish takes us to the fancy restaurant serving an unmatched 12-course experience 💙 There has never been, there will never be, another Tuomas Holopainen; Nightwish; Floor 💙💙💙 I hope we humans don’t overlook the MESSAGE and 🙏 that we LEARN (we can all do much better!). Thank you for your great reaction! It is indeed WOW! On and off for years I have been (and still am) researching my ancestors and this song and video is the icing in the cake. My ancestors suffered a lot but I hope they also had good times. I wish I could speak with them and hug them but in my thoughts I love them. Fyi 3 days ago NW released the first part of "Making of... Yesterwynde", their new album. On June 3rd the 2nd part is scheduled to be released. Exciting! Have fun! Greetings!

Great song, great video, great reaction!! The title of album Yesterwynde is actually a non exiting word that Troy came up with. Yesterwynde is the opening track on new album, i belive its only like a intro, its a little over 2 min long, #2 on album then is a almost 10 min song, thats proberly another epic!! #3 is where i think they bring in a heavy track, and this Perfume of the timeless is #5.. so i think its gonna be a good mix of heavy songs, Epics, and maybe a full balled.. Perfume of the timeless, well its almonst a ghost energy song right, telling all these ancestors is perfume around in a timeless world, being around you still, also a message that your existens matters!! i feel tuomas also put in a little message that mankind could do better still, Einstein turn to ape.. I listened to this song maybe 50 times by now, and it is one i like to listen to with my headphones or without, its really a good song, when i can do so to me. cant wait for rest of album!! Hello again Pentagenarian from a Nightwish Army Phoenix Sextagenerian... which by the way sounds way ... err never mind. As I have said on several of your previous Nightwish reactions... awesome. I absolutely love Nightwish with Floor and this totally blew me away. Tuomas outdid himself here and I cannot wait to here the entire Yesterwynde album when it is released on September 20th. "You are the dream of many ancestors"... what a statement !!!! Another massive song from The Master Tuomas Holopainen. Nightwish has matured nicely !!! Wow, just WOW... I have my nitpicks about the mix, but when I Really Dive In (pun intended) to the music and lyrics, this song is as massive as The Greatest Show on Earth. Nightwish makes you think... and thats Good, because there are sadly less and less people who can think and wonder about life and all its grand workings on this day and age... I thoroughly enjoy Nightwish's music and my first listen to this a lovely listen. Though I'm wary regarding their environmental message however well intended as I worry there are forces at play leading them for their own ends. It makes me anxious when some of these environmental charities and celebrities start talking of overpopulation as the problem. I can't support those. I say that as someone that does my level best to respect our mother earth. My late partner studied environmentalism to degree level in the 90's only to be horrified where the 1992 earth summit would lead. We must take care to support genuine protectors of our earth and not those that aim to steal it.

'Noise' music video from Nightwish in 2020 was the best for me that year and this one is leveled up beyond that. Gonna be hard to beat. I hope they do at least one or two more videos from the new album because I'm a greedy and unreasonable human. The scene where AI is struggling to form an early sapiens, then jumping to furious tap dancing trips me out. That will be how I look getting dressed and heading out to buy this album. 🔥🤘🔥
