I was there in the audience! Henk agreed to sing this song with Floor at the Beste Zangers 2019 show, provided that they would sing it also at the next Nightwish performance in Amsterdam. Floor promised, but then Covid kicked in and it was more or less forgotten. But hey, Floor is Floor so they rehearsed this song in secret without the band for this performance, what was a bit of a risk as they could not practise all details. You can see that Floor is giving the sign for his last "Sing for me..." . BTW Henk learned how to get that growlish effect for his performance in Beste Zangers. Henk is the Dutch Phantom in the theatres. A great voice. Floor is a huge fan of Henk 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Henk does a great job of The Sound Of Silence on the Best Zangers program.

Floor and Henk appeared on the Dutch television show Beste Zangers and became friends. They performed it together on the show (worth checking out.) Nightwish recorded this song for one of their early albums. This was the first time the band performed it in nearly 29 years. The previous performance with Tarja and Marko in 2005 also worth checking out.

As previously mentioned they met on a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers where singers sing each other songs. Floor went on the show because Henk was her girlhood hero having seen him in POTO when she was a teenager. Prior to this show Floor was virtually unknown in the Netherlands. She opened the first show singing Vilja Lied to Henk and the whole of the Netherlands was shocked and were continually shocked every week with Floors Talent. This kick started Floor's solo career after the show she did a 10 show tour of the Netherlands singing Solo and Henk came with her to duet in a couple of songs. Floor released her first solo album called Paragon in 2023 and she is now very well known in the Netherlands. Floor's version of POTO with Henk from Beste Zangers is well worth a watch.

I really enjoy this version of Phantom. Floor and Henk sound very good together. I always smile when I see a reaction to this one come up. However, your exploration of Nightwish's version of Phantom is really not complete until you react to the early version from the End of an Era DVD. It is very different and equally wonderful.

Ordinary perfomance. Floor has to weak voice for this song. Henk is king here. There are better versions of this song. Even with Nightwish.

Grow up. This was sung correctly by Floor. If you prefer Christine screaming out her lungs trying to compete with an equally screaming Eric then go back to End of an Era.

Tarja and Floor have very different approaches to the song that much is true - but it is beyond ridiculous to suggest that Floor's voice is too weak. If you don't like Floor's version just say so - don't insult a dedicated and professional singer who has forgotten more about singing that we have ever learnt.
