Your reactions are stellar! Even if you don't watch the videos, many Nightwish fans are asking for the live reactions because of the love for Floor Jansen and the energy she brings to some of the older songs. Really the whole band is more energetic live. But I will love whatever you decide to do.

The reason why everyone is asking you to listen the live versions is simple. Floor joined the band in 2012 after they fired the previous singer. And do be fair, she sings everything better than Anette who did 2 albums with them. So because anette is doing the same songs in studio albums while live versions have Floor. And to be fair Nightwish is sooo much better Live! I really love em.

Nightwish was far before Evanescence. Sorry but poor Amy is great but she could not hold a candle to our Queen Floor. This song is basically Toumas "keyboard player/Song writer" talking about the condition of the band after the firing of longtime friend and first frontwoman Tarja. He was put into a terrible state of mind and even contemplated suicide. Well, this song is a shout out to poe as well as his outpouring of his emotions at the time. Nightwish was and is his life and he feared it was over.

Nightwish started in 1996, and they sort of "started" the whole symphonic metal scene, there were others, but they were the band that sort of took it to the mainstream. they started to get really big in 2003 and 2004 with songs like "ghost love score" and "nemo". Evanescence became big and mainstream with there debute album "fallen" in 2003 and the song "bring me to life". The reason that you know Evanescence better than Nightwish, might be because Evanescence is from the states, and Nightwish is from Finland. I am from Denmark, and i heard of Nightwish before Evanescence. They are both great bands, and you two are really passionate music lovers, Great reactions!

Floor Jansen just got a new species of beetle named after her. A man named Andreas Weigel just discovered a new beetle and named it "Tmesisternus floorjansenae". Floor named the man and the beetle on her facebook page and said it was an honor to have a beautiful animal named after her. She wrote "This fine example of the endless forms most beautiful species on this green planet was discovered last year by Andreas Weigel" and added a photo of the beetle.

Angry birds and Nightwish, both from Finland ;). I think Nightwish wouldn’t be Nightwish without Tarja Turunen. After she left Anette, not a bad singer, couldn’t carry the band like she should have. When Floor came, she just did it, she delivers perfectly songs that Tuomas (keyboards)writes or have written. You just have give credits to him and the whole band, they work like a clock.

I see ez0950 gave you the background to this song. Tuomas's lyrics are poetic and sometimes hard to figure out. That is why having back ground information can help. Your Nightwish family will be more than happy to help...... :-) Nightwish started in 1996. They were one of the beginning symphonic metal bands. I warned you about Nightwish fans. I kinda like the "Pain in the Ask(ers)" nickname for us. It is funny even though deep down inside you really feel that way about us........lol Thanks for playing another Nightwish. Before watching this I commented on your Ghost Love Score reaction, talking about how I like it when you "only listen to it" at the first time, and talked a lot about The Greatest Show On Earth. First of all: I'd say, if you prefer listening to music without watching, stick with it no matter what others are saying. It's also good as it makes your reactions special. There are so many (especially Nightwish) reactions out there and yours (GLS) is the only one I found (SO FAR) with reactors only listening. I thought it was nice and interesting BECAUSE it was different from all the others. Second, back to TGSOE: Maybe you should do both: Listen to it (as mentioned in the comment before: album version) AND watch the live video from Tampere. The order in which you check these out should be depending on what your focus is, as the album version sure has many more musical details. On the other hand, in the live version still is SO MUCH GOING on, even though one CAN get disappointed because of the missing details at first, while then getting overwhelmed by all the visual details it delivers. In addition to all this, if you found the visuals of TPATP distracting, the visuals of TGSOE would probably blow your mind in a negative way. The song itself has SO much going on already both in music and lyrics that I'm pretty sure the video would be too much for you for the first time getting to know this song. So, maybe for you the following order might be a good choice when it comes to TGSOE: 1. checking out lyrics including some research (as mentioned) 2. only listening to the album version (absorbing all the music, maybe thinking about how it goes along with the lyrics) 3. watching the live video (for the final mindblow in a GOOD way ;D) Maybe it wouldn't even be a problem if you made a double-reaction (depending on how long your video uploads can be, haha). Counting your comments in, it would easily take more than 1 hour of your (and our) lives, but noone would ever have to regret it and most Nightwish fans are never getting tired of this song so everyone would probably still love to watch it! ;D

Marco's beard - interesting first comment! Floor is 6ft 1in - make sure the size is right for Kel's outfit! Tuomas put his heart and soul into this work. honestly, I think it would be interesting to have you watch with the projector in the dark, maybe with a soft light or even just the projected image lighting you up. I'd say to experiment with that for a few videos. Glad to see more people discovering the epicness that is: Nightwish. And with you watching this and Phantom of the Opera, you got to hear Marco's singing. Nightwish was formed in 1996, and is actually the most internationally successful Finnish band in existence, and also the first Finnish band to ever headline at the Wembley Arena in London. This particular song is also a bit dark, because Tuomas (their main songwriter) was in a very dark mental state while writing the album. The reason is that they had to fire their first singer before the album, who was also Tuomas' friend since school. So the whole firing business also destroyed their friendship, and to top it off they were worried that the band wouldn't find a suitable singer and might collapse. The album also contains songs that the band says "will never be played live" due to those same reasons.

The reason why you should watch the videos while listening to the music is because Floor is not only singing, she is performing, she is overwhelming and pushing the crowd just by her stage presence and emotions she is showing during singing. Same applies to the rest of the band, Tuomas during poet and the pendulum is truely showing his feelings he had when writing and performing this song. Nightwish is not a one trick pony, they are a whole package, great musicians, perfect performer and a great show wrapped around it. The experience is just complete watching and listening to their songs. Nightwish fan here since the first album from Germany, greetings everybody.

Floor and Amy (both born in '81) is only a few months age wise, but Floor was with in Holland with her band After Forever until 2010. She met Nightwish in '02 when they toured together when Tarja was in Nightwish. Just not so big in America... symphonic was way underground for America around the time I "found" NW in 2000-2001 edit: oh my you need to watch the DVDs on the projector! WOU THAT WOULD BE PRETTY EPIC and you will never think itd be sucky. You could use a low light and live stream. If you are in Florida, I am in Tampa area. I am going again. you just missed them in April 2018 :(

Don't mind me. I'm just passing through in my quest to see all reactions to Nightwish (NW) there are in YT. Ann W. & her fellow fans will keep you informed & busy with NW for sure. Just in case, I must tell you that NW (a Finnish band) released their first album in 1997, whereas Evanescence (U.S.) did theirs in 2003. Even their first EP (1998) was released a year after NW had already released their first full-length album. However, since the U.S. is so vastly bigger & more influential in the music industry, you discovered Evanescence first, but I and probably also most Finns & even Europeans NW. I also like Evanescence, but NW even more. P.S. I already subscribed after "Ghost Love Score" reaction. P.S.S: Kudos for using quality over the ear headphones. Also, whatever works for you, is fine by me.

Found you reacting to Nightwish. Really like your reactions, Nightwish is always a safe card to react too :) only good and epic songs. Volume could be a little higher...but from all their epic songs Song Of Myself from Wacken and Creek Mary's Blood from the End Of An Era concert with Tarja. Keep up with Nightwish 🤘

I can add perhaps a little more insight to the origin of that term "Floorgasm." It isn't what you think: It was coined by a writer for a metal webzine after the 2012 concert in Seattle where Floor first appeared on stage with them to rescue the endangered world tour after the 2nd singer left abruptly. If anyone loved the 1st singer, Tarja, more than Tuomas it was the fans. She was deeply loved by all and viewed as an irreplaceable angel because of the magical chemistry between her and the band that burst forth on stage whenever they appeared. With her suddenly gone, millions of fans were heartbroken as badly as Tuomas. Annette, her replacement, was (and is) a fantastically talented singer with a beautiful voice... in the studio. But on stage her style just did not blend right with the band and, although the two studio albums with Annette are arguably Nightwish's best two albums, the live performances lacked that magical chemistry and fell flat with the old time Tarja fans. Although they continued to love Nightwish there was always this tension and anxiety and pain at the loss of their beloved Tarja and that missing magical spell her presence in the band cast over audiences. When it was announced that Floor would be replacing Annette mid-tour, she was a relative unknown to so many Nightwish fans and the replacement was met with hopeful trepidation. Floor herself admitted in an interview much later that she too was "scared shitless" about whether fans would accept her. But when she stepped out on that Seattle stage and opened her mouth, it became instantly clear that the magic was back! Floor brought back the magic! She had that chemistry with the rest of the band that had been missing. That 2012 audience in Seattle became the bellwether in measuring that tension which had built for the 7 Annette years. It came to a head when Floor performed that beautiful, signature Nightwish epic, Ghost Love Score, with which Tarja was so closely identified, and took it to a whole new level of greatness by adding her own signature ending far beyond anything Tarja ever did. When she hit that incredible refrain at the end which no one in the audience was expecting (and she pulled it off with absolute perfection) the mass response was a spontaneous release of those 7 years of tension as a sudden outpouring of emotion, love, and respect that exceeded even that Tarja had earned. That outpouring was also the moment that Floor realized she had done it.... she had won the audience's acceptance as a fixture in Nightwish. I'm sure she felt the spontaneous release also, as it was pretty clear she had a hard time fighting back tears of happiness. It was one of those watershed moments in music history that happens once in a lifetime. It is quite something to hear and see if you have the chance. The webzine writer likened that spontaneous mass release of tension to a mass orgasm by coining that term, and apparently the fanbase has agreed with that allegory. I'll bet that Floor doesn't mind the term at all because it is clear that it represents an "orgasm" of professional respect for her extraordinary talent and not anything regarding prurient interests.

The last one you have to watch every now and then, otherwise you will miss some visual parts, and never understand where these sounds came from....😉 I totally understand why you close your eyes while listening music, do that often myself. And of course, welcome to the Nightwish family, glad you found what jou were looking for, for so long!

WOW OKAY *moves this channel to top 3 now* Edit: the gravitational pull is actually my ass. It's true. My dad once told me if he threw change at my butt, it was so big, it would create its own orbit due to the gravitational pull. Edit: it is a bit saddening that people cant just let you enjoy the music in the best way for your most incredible and personal experience :'( Re-edit: I guess it's important to note, the songwriter, Tuomas (keyboards) composed this (as he does most of the stories and songs) as a manner of killing himself so that he did not have to in real life, after losing the original singer, Tarja (who is since gone solo and does many NW covers and Arias as well as her own material ) whom he fired via an open letter, replaced with Anette Olson who has now since been replaced with Floor (Hopefully this is the last singer switch, I cant take another one. ugh. heartache.)

Nightwish songs.. before hearing the song, you should do a little research lyrics.. etc (you should hav done it in "poet" you'll get so much more out of the song... and MY Favorite the MASTERPIECE: "The Greatest show on Earth" live in Tampere, Finland. Heres a little insights: it's over 20mins long and hav devided in 5 different parts. First one called "four point six" meaning billions years ago. It travels through planet forming, stars... water, plants, dinos, all the way to the present time. So its a about evolution on earth. Truly the greatest show on earth. We are just to close to see it and understand it. But this one helps :) btw checking out the lyrics before video helps. Theres a part "We were here" Goosebumps everytime... And talking about the Song itself. Truly a Masterpiece from the Mastermind himself Mr. Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards). Everyone should see and hear this masterpiece. Been in concerts: Metallica, GNR, Maiden, Mötley, U2, Bon Jovi.. etc.. (and now Nightwish) i never thought that the band whos Really got something to say i found it here in my own country. Kiitos (thank you) Tuomas :) Check it out all the way to the ending credits and thank me later.

You two are adorable... and a concert with both Evanescence AND Lindsay Sterling?! That would've been amazing. Since you've already heard "Ghost Love Score" and now "Poet and the Pendulum" the next stop on the tour is "The Greatest Show on Earth". Nightwish are such amazing performers, it's part of the reason the live versions are so favored... and since you've boarded the Symphonic Metal reaction tour bus you can also expect folks to request "Cry for the Moon" by Epica, "Pisces" by Jinjer, and "Awakening" by Unleash the Archers :D ... EDIT: though "Pisces" is not Symphonic Metal it is one of the best reaction worthy metal songs around LOL

Go to see Nightwish in a concert and then you are in heaven. They pioneered this genre (no copy) since 1996 and are top during the time since. Tuomas is a genius and founded this all. But note that his masterpieces are challenging and not necessary open easily. To understand this one properly one needs to do research quite much.

I was waiting for your reaction on the second “poem” where you said it took a left turn. It was great to see it shake you a bit. You should research the meaning of the song. It will make more sense. Nightwish and Evanescence came out around the same time 95/96 but Nightwish was popular before them by about 3 or 4 years. So you listened to Floor, their current singer and Tarja, their original. You need to listen to Annette, who replaced Tarja. I would recommend Amaranth and do the official video. I’ve been blessed to see all 3 singers and have to say, Annette was not the greatest live performer but she was great in studio. Amaranth is my favorite from her era. Ha! I’m the first like to a video! First time ever ;)
