The drummer is Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer in the Wacken videos, he is an original member since 1996. In 2015 he disclosed he would be stepping down from the recording and touring for the upcoming album he was replaced by his close friend and hand picked successor Kai Hiato Two weeks ago in a press statement, he offically turned the job over to Kai, but he is still in the band handling the day to day business part of the band.

They are literally helping me get through this difficult season of my life.

How much work it takes to be a band, the coordination and everything in Nightwish is amazing. Who most take for granted. Like every other rock and metal band theese days right...What happened to real work and performance? Dont tell me how much of a genious DJ is compared to what? yeah just another DJ. Apritiation for the music and the details makes it distinct. AND ITS GOD DAMN FINNISH!

Your reactions are awsome👍😁 For the most powerful and heartbreaking song: the poet and the pendulum live at wembley. That song require some background check before your reaction. In short this song is Tuomas(their composer on keyboard) suicide. He got so depressed after kicking their first singer (Tarja) out of the band. The fans hated him for it. He spills all his emotions out in this song. They avoid doing it live because its so hard for him. In this performance you see him singing into the sky and emppu(on guitar) and Marco(on bass) going over to him to support him. That performance tears me up every time😪😍

If you want Marco singing a bit more and some celtic tones. Than you should do a reaction to. I want my tears back. LIVE from wembly 2015. if you want Marco in the lead. React to. While your lips are still red. also Wembly 2015. Or try The Islander from Tampere 2015 ( i gave your first upload a like to ) for more Celtic influence try My Walden or Elan both from Wembly 2015.

The Bassist is Marco Hietala or as I like to call him the metal Viking. He sings on about 1/3 of Nightwish's songs and is often underappreciated because he is not the lead but the man is a awesome singer in his own right. If you want more of him I would probably recommend Phantom of the Opera from the End of an Era tour. You should probably listen to this song before you listen to The Poet and the Pendulum any way. Other recommendations for more Marco Wish I had an Angel also from End of an Era, The Islander from the Tampere show, and Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red from the Wembly show.

Yes, I too really enjoy the elements reminding me of progressive rock bands of yesteryear. It’s one of the things that still sets Nightwish apart from other symphonic bands. Within Temptation, Epica, and Kamelot being notable exceptions, as all three bands adopt similar elements in various pieces. Whyzdom, a French band, really plays up the symphonic elements while Nightwish has recently trended down more folkish trails. Thing is, I’m not sure Floor can go wrong. Even my least favorite Nightwish songs are good with her on vocals. I wasn’t thrilled with that last album until I actually listened to it. I think you might appreciate the whispered memories of Jethro Tull the songs might evoke. I love how they follow the muse and dare us to follow. I’m following.

Romanticide from this concert would be a good choice for your next reaction, or Ghost River. Both feature great duets by Floor and Marco. The opener to this concert is also worth a suggestion. Relatively short but engaging, melodic, and of course epic: Dark Chest of Wonders. If you'd like to hear more Floor vocal gymnastics from this concert (no opera voice, just fantastic singing), try the 80s love power pop song Ever Dream from this concert. If you want to hear (and see) her go all out metal (and pay attention to what goes on in the chorus!), try Yours Is An Empty Hope from the Nightwish Cruise. Parental Guidance Advised: Here Be a Dragon.

If you guys are going to get caught up with Nightwish ya’ best get started. They started in 1996 and a lot of their older stuff is no less epic. Their first vocalist Tarja Turunen is also a force of nature. She could sing a phone book and half the world would melt at her feet. Marko, the bassist, also has some solo albums. Floor has brought new energy to the band. Toumass has written new songs to let her talents loose. They will release a new album and tour next year. I’m looking forward to your reactions. Liked & subbed.
@johngialluca60255 жыл бұрын
Yeah. You guys are just starting out. 😉. For Celtic sounding stuff check out Seven Days to the Wolves (you’ll really see the depth of this band) and My Walden. Both of those were from the Wembley Arena show. You guys really need to check out Poet and the Pendulum. Pause on that one to avoid copyright strikes. Storytime is an upbeat song that sounds more mainstream. If you want to hear Marco sing more check out the Islander live at Tempere and While Your Lips are Still Red also live at Tempere. Hell, their whole damn catalog is amazing. Glad you guys are enjoying NW and welcome to the Fam.

Please you have to react to The Poet and The Pendulum as well. A true work of art, an incredibly emotional song. You've probably been told a million times but keep in mind Tuomas (the synthesizer) does almost all the music and lyrics alone. His talent is indescribable really. They're all talented and they make together what Nightwish is, it's just quite phenomenal what Tuomas can do. He wrote the poet and the pendulum about the time when he had to fire Tarja their first singer and about the pain he went through back then. I've seen written somewhere that Tuomas wrote the song instead of killing himself. Don't have a source for that so don't know if it's true but it really gives you an image of how deep and difficult of a song it is. Hope you'll react to it soon

Nightwish kicks all the time over the musical genre borders and is always better on stage than studio (Sure studio records are great but missing a lot if no seeing band playing and Floor (And Marco too) singing. Floor is really stage beast... If looking for example rock/Celtic combination from Nightwish, "I want my tears back" would be good choice to start (Example from London Wembley live). Bagpipe and guitar together is not bad, not at all. "My Walden" (Example from Tampere live pro audio/video) goes to same gategory.

Hopefully you'll enjoy your ride on the Nightwish train to ecstasy for many more live perfromances from their shows at Wacken Open Air 2013 in Germany, Tampere Ratina Stadion in Finland 2015 & Wembley Arena 2015, London UK. Unfortunately there are no official live videos from their Wacken Open Air & Bloodstock 2018 shows on KZbin yet, so the sound quality of the videos from those 2018 shows is somewhat poorer. For Celtic flavor I'd go for: Nightwish - My Walden (Live - Tampere) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGm7qKVnoLl4ms0 and/or the purely instrumental "Nightwish-Last Of The Wilds" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioevi6OmfbGKfJY from WOA 2013 during which Floor went backstage to change her outfit.

Nightwish - I Want My Tears Back.Vehicle Of Spirit.Live at Wembley (2015). Just FYI Wacken is pronounced "Vocken" , it's the largest metal venue in Germany. So, you've already done #1 in the Trilogy, you'll want Poet and the Pendulum Live Wembley, With Lyrics, Best to do background research first as very important to understand what it's about. Then on to "Greatest Show on Earth", Tampere, and there is one with lyrics as well, (background narration by Richard Dawkins, watch all the way past credits) - ALL EPIC! Enjoy! :-)
