slaying the dreamer is a perfect song in many ways. The combination of voices is beautiful and Tarja shows that she not only sings "opera" (although she said many times that she doesn't sing opera) but that she does some very powerful belting and at the end of the song she makes incredible high notes. is one of my favorite songs.

She of course is correct. Its not opera. Its chamber music style. A Master's degree in the subject is enough to defer to.

Two great songs and the second one was absolutely stunning. Tarja is a goddess. You are almost at 1k. Keep doing Nightwish and you’ll be there by the end of the week. ✌️🔥

Thank you for your nice reaction. A funny nerdy fact: As a linguist J.R.R. Tolkien was fascinated by the finnish language and mythology and studied them quite a lot. The elven language quenya Tolkien created was at least partially inspired by finnish. He liked the long vowel sounds many of which you can hear in the titel Kuolema tekee taiteilijan.

HOLY CRAP!! I was actually going to comment on that during the video and say how much it reminded me of Arwens character but didnt want to come off as an idiot :D glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for that nerdy fact LOL...i love it!

@@totallyradreactions5006 Wow that is actually very observant! No wonder Dr Riitta-Liisa Valijärvi who teaches finnish at the University Collage London has said her students tend to like heavy metal music and fantasy fiction. 😅

Again great reaction!!! This version of "Slaying the Dreamer" is so powerful and amazing. I LOVE the combination of Marko and Tarja's vocals!! Yes indeed she was singing in Finnish and yes it is a beautiful language. Please react to Marko's solo song "Isani aani" which he also sings in Finnish. The title means "Voice of my Father" and it is a beautiful song.

The band really left blood on the stage at this show. Everyone performed as if it might be their last time...bc they weren't sure if they'd go on after firing Tarja after this concert. Have a listen to Floor.singing Slaying The Dreamer (Buenos Aries)...its great...but for me, nothing compares to that raw emotion coming from Marko in the song...note his intonation when he sings the.libe "I truly HATE you"

Tarja isn't shy and swings for the bleachers every time.

She was very shy growing up. She has overcome that to the benefit of the world of music lovers.
