There is a better vocal performance for this one because she is sick here, but since it’s her last concert, I felt this one was more appropriate with the pictures of the band behind her. Thank you, Eric, much appreciated

Tarja being alone on stage singing such a touching song and the pictures of the band in the background really feels like a homage, a final goodbye to Tarja.. it's so emotional. Her voice really is crystal

Thank you!! I hadn't heard this song in a while, I got goosebumps. I know I am partial when I say this, but I love it when Tarja sings in Finnish. I think she should do it more often. There is always something special when a singer sings in their native language. You are right about that, music is a blessing!

Thank you Eric a great reaction again. I appreciate you appreciating Tuomas for his music and genius because most other reactors just avoid him or unaware of him. He really is a something else out of this world I think. He belongs to fairy world. And as for Yesterwynde , I simply can't stop listening. Is really a masterpiece 🤘 thank you again

This song is a hidden treasure. Live, it is almost desolate having but the vocalist on the great empty stage. Still powerful and focused. At home with yourself, it is a journey to your inner soul. The knowledge of language is unnecessary. Ever that I listen to "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan" (knew Kuolema as Death from my earlier encounters with music of Jean Sibelius), if I maintain my composure through the first verses, that cello solo, more eloquent than anything at that precise point, gets me every time. Dew welling on my face, oh well. This is universal, beyond Metal, or any genre classification.

Though I don't understand the lyrics, I definitely understand the emotions. Beautiful vocals. 🤘😆🤘

Music and language were created, or discovered, at the same time. Language became the medium to express information. Music remained to express emotions.

Tuomas wrote an emotional ballad to handle death. The lyrics is awesome...when translated. Yes...the band went out from stage and only Tarja performed. You must check her solo songs ...she does opera too. I found one example where she is in a castle and sings an opera role in a play performance (duet) with a male opera singer. Check also this in Lowlands.

Yes!! Eric and another Nightiwsh song. Great, I love your reactions and analyses, especially Nightwish, Sabaton, Witnersun. I don't have Eric discord, so I'll write my recommendation here. It's Nightwish - Walking in the Air from the DVD From Wishes To Eternity [concert in Tampere 2000] By the way, once again I would like to ask you to watch Sabaton - No Bullets Fly and the amazing story presented in the Animated Story Video Sabaton. I guarantee you will be accompanied by strong emotions and tears. I'm waiting when I see these reactions on your channel. All the best Eric. Greetings from Poland

At last! I've asked a good few reactors to do this - one of the songs I love Tarja doing. You are the first to pick it up... Talking about the transition, it went the other way - the previous song was Slaying the Dreamer. My only criticism of this is yoouch vibrato (a common thing with Tarja) but the Finnish language is beautiful when sung and especially so with Tarja's clarity. Thanks for your thoughts Eric. Shout out to Vanessa.

This song is special for me, even if I do not understand finnish. I did some search about it and here what I found: The band ear about a fan that was dying, and this fan has a last wish : see Nightwish live. I don't know if it is the case, and if true if this last wish was fillfull, but it was the inspiration that Tuomas had when he composed this song. And the subject of our own death is present in many NW songs : The Poet and the Pendulum (Tuomas death), The greatest show on earth (few decade under the sun, we where here), Perfume of the timeless (ghost of the band members), and more. And I think they included this theme in the background. If you look at the larges screens behind them, through the song you see all band member appearing and fading away. I think it was about there own mortality, that someday all of them will disapear. Also, Tuomas did a very special choice : no band member are playing (no guitar, no bass, no drum, and maybe no keyboard if it was only recorded by their usual orchestra) and Tarja was left alone. They hesitated to put it on the album they was producing, but finally, as odd this song was apart from the rest of the album, they decided to included it.
