Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, bassist, songwriter and incredible vocalist both solo and in harmony! Marko has many facets to his voice! **Don't ever get into to a "who's the best singer from Nightwish?" discussion...it will only lead to a comment war. However...Marko made beautiful music w all 3 female leads...so he's the safe answer! This concert, End Of An Era 2005...is very intense...Tarja was fired by the band right after this show. The band played like it might be their last show...bc they just didn't know what the future would bring.

Now it's absolutely necessary to listen to the Floor version of this song and I advise you to look for the live version recorded at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam some months ago. Another masterpiece.

I don't care how many times I hear this, I enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. It's such a unique presentation of this song. Tarja's more operatic voice is perfect for the song, and Marko's growly, snarly Phantom adds a dimension that is not heard in other versions. Marko hit a confirmed G5 in this and I think I remember that Tarja hit high D. I agree with @amygoodson-catlady that all of the female singers are wonderful, and a direct comparison is impossible. Marko's harmonies with all three are spot on. As far as the next song, you can't go wrong whatever you choose so I am just going to suggest one of my very favorites "Song of Myself" live at Wacken 2013.

Excelente reacción ❤ Tarja & Marko eran el pulmón de Nightwish, una vez más me acabo de emocionar con esta reacción ❤en este mes de julio después de 18 años volvieron a unir sus voces con esta misma canción pero con versión diferente a Nightwish , fue emocionante para todos los fans que vimos crecer a Nightwish con Tarja y Marko en el escenario se notó la emoción de ambos de volver a pisar de nuevo un escenario juntos e interpretar al FANTASMA DE LA ÓPERA recordando viejos tiempos ❤ desde Paraguay soy nueva subscriptora y apoyo al canal y creo que deberías reaccionar a Nightwish con su primera ex vocalista y cofundadora de la banda Tarja Turunen , te recomiendo "The Siren" única con una voz hechizante y encantadora sirena ❤ Ghost Love Score en vivo 2005 final de una era ,diferente versión de Floor Jansen , Ever Dream con Tarja 2005 final de una era fue muy emocionante , Tuomas muy emocionado echando lágrimas en el escenario luego de ese concierto despidieron a Tarja con una carta abierta muy dolorosa para todos ❤ pero ahora como solista la esta yendo súper bien te recomiendo que la reacciones como solista tiene muchas músicas geniales no te vas a arrepentir reaccionarla, aun sigue cantando algunas canciones de Nightwish ella aun ama esa banda aunque aun haya heridas sangrando por esa final de una era 🤘🏻 mucho éxitos para el canal 🤘🏻

The difference between Tarja and Floor is: Tarja is a an opera singer who coincidentally got into a metal band, Floor is a metalhead who can sing opera 😉 And between them is Anette, who got a more pop music style of singing. All three of them a great vocalists and I wouldn't compare them in a way like "who is the better singer", you just can't. They are all great, they have their own style and they're all part of the band's history.

Me gusta mucho tarja es grandiosa, Anette también hizo su aporte con los discos comercialmente mas exitosos de nightwish pero floor esta a otro nivel, su presencia escénica es gigante y su voz es única. En conclusión las 3 cantantes que pasaron por la banda nos dejaron excelente musica para disfrutar.

@@CamiVocalist Neither of these have been performed by NW. These are from Phantom of the Opera directly. "All I Ask of You" is a duet. Look fro the one by Josh Groban and Lea Salonga. "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" was done well by a few singers. Phantom was first set as a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and his then girlfriend/wife (not sure which) played the lead character Christine. That was Sarah Brightman. If you look for it, find the original. Life hasn't been kind to her voice (or she hasn't bothered maintaining it). There's another singer who sang in a video production of Phantom... Sierra Boggess I think. However, to truly understand, you need to see the entire musical to get the full context of these two songs.

The chemistry here is difficult. Tarja will be fired right after this concert. Everyone knows that too, except Tarja. The differences between the "opera diva" and the "rock stars" had become too great. Nevertheless, Marko and Tarja got along well after that. A few years later, Marko was a guest with Tarja and only recently they sang this song together again. This version is the best for me. Tarja is the better opera singer and this phantom is ready to kill like the phantom does in the template. Aside from Gabriel's list, I recommend Shoemaker from the current album. @@CamiVocalist Marko only joined Nightwish in 2001 for their fourth album. In 2021 he left the band unexpectedly. This came as a shock to Nightwish and Tuomas and Empuu assumed this was the end of Nightwish. But Tuomas wasn't done with his trilogy, and Floor had a say in that as well. That's why they're recording a new album now. As it later turns out, Marko had been depressed for years and the pandemic has made it worse. He promised never to appear in public again. But he quickly appears in the music videos of musician friends. In early 2022 he will be appearing at festivals as part of the supergroup Northern Kings and by the end of the year he will be touring Finland with his solo program. At the end of 2022 he announces that he will continue touring with his solo program and writing new material. Tarja recently gave a solo concert in Pratteln/Switzerland and invited Marko and Delain as support. Of course there are only fancams of it.
