Loved the reaction gents, you know Floor is pure Goddess whenever she chooses, this guy Troy is no slouch. He could pick up a rock and a stick, with maybe a bit of yarn and get beautiful sounds from it in a short period of time. Since Marko left, he picked up those vocals tremendously in the Virtual Shows , guy has a great voice, and I don't impress easily with vocals.

This shows also the genius of Tuomas. This song is great in the NIghtwish version (a bit louder, so to say), but it still stands strong in this more naked and beautiful version, and you cannot hide with just a guitar and two voices.

This song seems deceptively simple vocally until the end, but I have seen several videos of pro singers and vocal coaches explaining that it is a killer, as she moves between several vocal registers in one phrase several times and does the syncopation in the middle section, to name a couple, plus there is nothing to hide behind here, so vocally she is totally exposed, there is no forgiveness.

When Tuomas had the idea of starting a band of his own, his idea was to create an acoustic band. They made 3 songs and got slightly bored and went over to Tarja, who Emppu suggested to Tuomas, asked her if she would be interested in singing in this new band. Tarja came and sang with her opera voice and took the guys by surprise. Tuomas then though she needed more heavier music accompanied with her voice. Rest is history. Check out the song from the new album Human Nature, the songs rhythm is in the mood of a heathbeat.

If you by any chance know a really really talented singer - then ask her to sing this song. The techniques Floor uses, both breath and voice techniques are unbelievable. Very very few singers can cover this song in that way. No wonder why Troy called Floor's voice for Stratospheric in the interview. This is an incredible performance - just saying

This was a solid 10.10 and then some more. There's not an acoustic performance on planet earth that can outmatch this. Not one slip of any note. Floor's pitch is beyond perfect. I'm actually surprised that you gave it such a low grade.. As if any of us could outmatch this performance to ponder a score.. LOL

Hey friends. Nice reaction again. I'm a big fan of acoustic and piano versions that were originally metal and of course still are. The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor as a thank you that she love, joy and has brought success to the band again. The second CD from the human nature album is almost exclusively instrumental. A masterpiece by Tuomas. A fan has made a video that was included in the nightwish museum by Tuomas.. Since you both Floor so far only with band have heard, I would like to suggest the following to you Floor Jansen - Alone (original by Heart) Just her and a piano.

I get involved in the discussions because I always have the hope that through my explanations, people themselves become aware of how stupid and intolerant they behave, even though they see themselves differently and better. But none of this annoys me. From my side, all this can stay there. However, if you think that such discussions harm you, then I leave it to you to delete them. I don't hold that against you. This is the thing about Nightwish - they are a band of real musicians. Individually they can match what they put together collectively - there are no passengers. This is from their new album which is a complete departure from the Wacken set. When you come to Shoemaker you will need to do a bit of homework first to find out about Eugene Shoemaker and the reason why his ashes are scattered on the moon. Have fun with that. But as you say - plenty of other good stuff out there to visit first.

Man. Seems like Metal mondays isn’t good enough to just have 1 genre when you have Nightwish 6 days a week. You need to open up to some Metallica now. Dig up the rabbit hole and see why they are the most successful metal band of all time. Hint* hint* they may be a bit more talented than Nightwish ;). I would suggest a simple Metallica song called One. That’s one of their more popular songs but definitely not one of their best.
