Interestingly, exactly when Chase said "She is not human" I personally thought thank God she is human! She actually missed a few notes, which is wonderful. I have heard completely flawless recordings of few songs and by losing the human element the songs turn into unnatural, synthetic crap. It is quite interesting how after all the small human imperfections are the things that actually elevate extraordinary into as close to perfection as possible.

A few points that I want to bring up after watching this stunning reaction: - Tuomas has mentioned in interviews that he put extra effort to include 3 part vocal harmonies on this album using Floor, Marco & Troy. - The second verse is written specifically for Floor by Tuomas. It recounts how she met her husband the drummer of Sabaton and the birth of their first child. - The higher backing female vocals in the second bridge could they be a female soloist from the choir. - The low vocals at end are Troy I believe, but I may be wrong on this. - Don't you just hate Troy a little bit for also being so good on the guitar and using finger picking, just a little? 😉

Nightwish has always been amazing - but with the permanent additions of Troy and Floor - they went SuperNova- I think Tuomas now has no limitations to his creativity and composing because the band is now a fine tuned engine, a machine, capable of a million expressions with blending many cultures of sound and music. How did you keep a dry eye during the acoustic version - Floor just churns up my emotions - her voice just haunts.

Oh Chase!!! I'm always more convinced that you NEED to watch Tuomas movie Imaginaerum... that's awesome! If you love Nightwish sound, horror movies and storytelling...you have to!! Imaginaerum was born as a concept album and everything started with Song of Myself and from this Tuomas had the Idea to make a movie connected to the Album...and all the movie has the soundtrack taken by the album... but reviewed in a mixing dark orchestral way. All those tracks are collected into a parallel album called Imaginaerum-the Score. I know that for reason of copyright you can't make a reaction video but I would be so happy if you could watch it and then give us your opinion about it. I love that movie, I've bought it and I've watched it again and again, and every time I catch something more...it has a really deep meaning. As a die-hard Tarja fan, I wasn't a fan of Annette's voice. Until I watched that movie. Hubby and I were caring for his mother who had dementia at the time when I first watched it. All the emotions in the story were so on point to those that you roller coaster through when actually going through that with someone, it was beautifully done and really hit a chord with me at the time. It's my favourite movie to this day and I love the album after seeing it in such a different way. I think that everyone who has a family member diagnosed with dementia should watch Imagninaerum, it explains the impact of the disease on everyone around it, much better than any of the information or reading material provided by any of the health or aged care professionals ever could. It's brilliant and insightful.

My husband plays bagpipes. I told him I wanted to learn Ulleann pipes so I could play Nightwish songs. Apparently Ulleann pipes are what happen when the Irish look at bagpipes and say "what if we made them even more complicated?" Because of course they are. It's Nightwish.

The moment you asked how they'd do that live... Oh, that was something special indeed, at least in Tallinn they went essentially with the acoustic version, but with the rest of the band coming in at the very end as well.

I love how he has super deep and technical observations the whole song then eventually just gets beaten into submission by Floor and goes "she is not human" while staring blankly at the screen.

I just wanted to thank you Chase, for this journey through the Human Nature album! In the past decade I have severely decreased my music consumption, and normally discover new albums from artists I love years after they've been published. And even then I would play them maybe a couple of times in the background, never focusing too much on either the music or the meaning behind a song, mostly treating them as a non-silence while I do other things. But watching your videos, discovering these songs together with you, and hearing your insights and deconstructions really made me go back to a period when I treated music with the actual respect it deserves. I got my tickets for a Nightwish concerts months ago, but only now do I feel like I deserve to go there and experience it in its full glory. Thank you!

There are two voices beneath Floor in the chorus in the lyric video- Troy and Marko - as they are at the end.... Rumour has it that Troy is still deaf in his left ear after the acoustic version! If it had to happen, what a way to go!..... Not human? Can't say you weren't told!! Even when you don't say anything but just look out of my screen I get what you're thinking! So clear! WOW = WithOut Words!... Yes. Both is good!

Tuomas wrote this song for Floor, her husband and their daughter as a small token of appreciation for when she stepped in and saved their 2012 tour (and the band itself) after Annette and them had parted ways just before their Denver concert.

Right from the first time hearing the album I noticed two instances where a heartbeat was emulated by the instruments: Kay on the drums in 2 instances in the beginning and then Emppu in the middle. Genius! The connection to the mechanical heart in the video is sick. Love your reaction.

I love the acoustic performance of this song. The album version is beautiful, but there is something about this performance, just Troy and Floor that adds a different emotion to the song. If you like the celtic vibe on the intro, make sure to check out Last of the Wilds, which is (on the album) a fast-paced instrumental follow-up on The Islander. Either the studio version or live Wacken 2013 (surprise) - most of the other live recordings of it (including the official live) I find somehow lacking. Was actually my first time hearing the acoustic version as well and, while I do like the original a bit more, it is once again a divine celebration of the immense vocal capability that found itself coming together in the current iteration of Nightwish. Completely unrelated P.S.: Since you've been lacking reactions to them for quite some time - I guess you watched the WWW-show of Eskimo Callboy? Hope you enjoyed it ;-)

You know, going through the setlist I just realized that you might just have to do a Wacken 2013 playthrough after Human :||: Nature (it's on their "Showtime, Storytime"-DVD)... It's basically brilliant recordings of many of their all-time bests. Dark Chest of Wonders is still my favorite live song of any band I listen to.

I adore how Nightwish are ever evolving. It would be so easy to rely on Floor's magnificent vocals with Marco adding his own special something, but no, now Troy gets to show us what a diverse musician he is and add his deep, rich voice to the band's sound. This album is something really genuinely special. Oh, and you're dead right Chase, Floor is not human 😍 She had me in tears with that acoustic performance - She is bliss 😭😻 Oh man I'm feeling all the feels right now!

This album is by far one of Tuomas most interesting of all Nightwish albums. Not only did he wrote amazing songs, but wrote for all 3 singers songs that blows your mind anytime. Don't think there is another composer like Tuomas on this planet today. Procession is one of my favorite of his amazing skill of doing beautiful ballads, and with Floor. Can't wait for that...again...it is over midnight here before I had the chance to watch your video, but worth waiting for it, great great analysis again, and yes, Floor is from another dimension.

Nightwish is and will always be incredible because, beyond the evident talent of each member, Nightwish's music is what reigns supreme, tuomas's mind and sense of belonging .. what is that sense of belonging for me? Nightwish never gave up beauty and love of music, the simple fact of fighting in the middle of a storm when Tarja left, to be able to resurface as if it were a phoenix, makes this band something truly magical, something that is not. . just about talent .. Nightwish is predestined to be a legendary band, and as the years go by I hope it becomes more appreciated, no matter how public it is .. that people really open their eyes to the talent of this band ... They they just don't get old, every year they get better ... like a good wine!
