Skiing is pretty old-fashioned hobby in Finland. It's mainly done by middle-aged/old men who take it too seriously and yell at everyone who dare to get in their way both irl and in the internet. I do not see Nightwish in that at all tbh :D.

As a fisherman and an old time Rapala user, I'm really upset about the lure deal not going through. That would've been epic. I could've been humming "Yours is an Empty Hope" instead of "Jaws" when trolling (get it?) for pike. I don't catch anything when trolling. Next time Nightwish is approached by a weapons manufacturer, point them towards Sabaton. Keep it in the family . . . Don't get the skiis problem though . . . All the Works of Nature that Adorn the World - Snow? Seriously. Finland is six months snow, six month sun. Get with the skiis deal.

I believe that Nightwish is completely your brainchild and you have every right not to squander it. Once upon a time, Tuomas said that "You should always listen to your heart in what you want, otherwise you will end up "selling out". I strongly agree with him and often quote it. And I think that the band has never sold out in anything, and goes by its own compass, unique and beautiful 💙🌿

I am very staunchly anti-war, as a rule. Also as a rule, wars are rarely orchestrated by the sides fighting, but by a small, powerful group that suffers no consequences and constantly tips the balance between sides so that it can never end. It's only a trap put in place by people you'll never see and whose names you'll never know. No good can come of it. I'm sure I wouldn't be listening to you today, had I learned of this story and it had gone any other way. I can't understand people who can separate an artist from their art when morality drives a wedge into things. With the influence such people have, if there is no conscience behind what they do and say, it's garbage, if not poison. You have a position of responsibility and few seem to regard it as such. That's why I can stand very little of what gets made anymore and remain a committed admirer of Nightwish. That ski idea was stupid. I'm glad you didn't do it on sheer principle. It sounds gimmicky and pointless, purely and very obviously only for the benefit of the guy pitching it. Why?! I don't really know what more fishing lures have to do with symphonic metal/progressive rock or music, in general, but I can't imagine what kind of epiphany you experienced over it. I tried fishing once... Once. If you're a devout fisherman, maybe you should design your own lures the way you think would improve on the kinds you like and name them after yourselves, individually. The truth is that, if I bought an expensive new car, well... I don't think I could even afford to attend a concert, so I think I would expect to find a Nightwish member IN the car for how much that'd probably cost (not even gonna look it up). @@nocturnal03 Not exactly. They knew about his ways way before sept 2020 and only tried to distance themselves from Finberg e.g. in 2015. So it is relevant because they knew about the guy's bullying behaviour for years, yet continued the collab. Brittney Slayes asked the same question about the why of keeping the man on board all these years while the bands knew perfectly well what he was all about. Was she wrong in asking? BTW: Epica fired Finberg in 2014.

@@DeepeningTheListening I remember Emppu saying that giving interviews is not in his comfort zone. I think it was the interview with Finnish music magazine Inferno back in 2020. The guy who interviewed Emppu had to persuade him before he agreed to do it over the phone. Emppu also added that there are other people in the band who are more than happy to do the interviews so it's no big deal if he skips them.

There's a legendary Finnish group called Leevi and the Leavings, who were active from 1978 to 2003. In those years they did one single live performance in 1981. They made 16 studio albums, and they were very very popular. Still are. :) Nightwish booked all the studios, orchestra and the choirs a couple of years before the recordings started. The decision to take a break from touring wasn't easy, but it had to be made so everyone can take the time they need to recharge their batteries. I know Floor didn't like the idea at first, but she has also said that she supports the decision. They didn't see a good reason to cancel the studios too, because the songs were there and they had been working on them for a long time already. I can understand that, and I am actually very happy that I get my hands on a new Nightwish album in a few weeks. The fact that there's no tour doesn't bother me. I am glad that they are taking care of themselves. :)
