I just watched Black Swan and came here to understand more about the nigredo, because that's what the movie felt like. Confronting the shadow and how terrifying the psychic chaos can be
@nietzschebietzsche4 ай бұрын
I feel like Black Swan would be more like being consumed by darkness. I would argue that some of Portman's character transformation was positive -- she learned to live with more passion, and embrace a sort of joie de vivre. In the end, however, she was not able to control her passion, it overtook her, and she went mad, losing all of herself by fully becoming the Black Swan, rather than integrating it.

Im going through the nigredo phase I believe. I have had a couple of anxiety attacks. It's scary, but I know I must go through this process of ego detaching itself from my core. Im seeking shadow practitioners to help in the process. Im looking forward to gaining more clarity as time goes on. I am however already feeling and seeing the positive effects of this self exploration though, I feel like I'm illuminating. Thanks for sharing this info!

I once read: "nigredo requires you to make naked and bare, that which you most fear others knowing about you." This put so much into perspective for me.
@ScribblebytesWorldwide3 жыл бұрын
Yes! But how do we make ourselves naked and bare in the Internet Age? People think they're becoming more "naked" because of digital technology but I argue that it's a Qlippoth. I like to use my conceptual art to challenge the idea of what it truly means to be emotionally naked. I call it emotional pr0n.

6:03 I'm sure you have probably already seen it, but the movie 'The Fountain' has a lot of negredo symbology and themes, and that of psychological alchemy. The movie 'Revolver' is also prevalent with negredo themes and is all about psychological transformation. This film got terrible reviews for how badly the rug gets pull from under people on that one. Both films changed my life forever, and I hope they do for you too. Great video, thank you for sharing information like this for all to learn and grow

Great video! You explained this process in depth. When it comes to artworks related to the Nigredo phase and shadow work, I can think of these films: Joker, The Fight Club, When Nietzsche Wept...Also, I can think of a poem called "Tamnica (Dungeon)" by Vladislav Petković Dis.

Great works you mentioned there! Especially the movie When Nietzsche Wept!

I never thought of Fight Club like that. I might have ranked it as Albedo+Rubedo but I do see Nigredo in The Narrator so yeah. If you've ever seen Las von Trier's Dogville I might say that's got strong Nigredic themes (yeah just made that word up).

Wow! This very deep. I’m in such state this days and as student of the occult, I would of not guessed I would encounter my shadow self. It’s not an easy path ones you enter the unknown but it’s worth it! Truly worth it! In this way the world would change and well have thinkers just as those in our days. I love this video for sure! And your work! Keep it up! Salutations to you as well 🕊

The talons of the pheonix represent blackening. Standing in the ash of all that was unhelpful. All the thoughts and actions that are illusion. One must see oneself in the mirror, and be real with yourself. They clutch onto the things we fear and hope to defend by destroying. Nothing can be destroyed, only transmitted using the axioms of mentalism, vibration, correspondence, and cause and effect. Once we get past the blackening, we look to the legs of the pheonix. The prime materia. The purity. The hope. The white legs offer something substantial to stand on in the physical world, whilst our spirit longs to soar. Then we look to the golden tail feathers. As the golden rays of the sun illuminate the green of the trees and the blue of the sky, so must we look in full perspective of what is needed and helpful to the world, ourselves, fellow souls. We must don our golden armor in resolution for the final test! You can only transmute things of equal value. The law of equivocal exchange. But there is a taboo of transmuting human souls, for what is of more value. We look to the fiery red eyes head and wings of the pheonix. This is a master who has stoked the bonfire (dark souls reference). If nothing is worth more than the human soul, my logic would follow that if you sacrifice your own life in pursuit of one thats better for everyone, they will kill you. But it costs everything to change the world. I am willing to become the pheonix, the torch to be passes hand to hand. In order for us all to win our legs must not weary! If my immolation on mountain top helps another start the negredo/magnum opus, i will burn. I will pass the torch, so that all will rise from the ashes Keep your eyes fixated on the highest point of light conceivable, and wish upon a star. We can show everyone the kingdom we guard within! Shine your light, so that all will see ✨👑 We must do this, its our purpose. You know it deep down. Chase your dream ❤

So is this phase kinda like a depression phase where you learn how to integrate your darkness?
@ScribblebytesWorldwide3 жыл бұрын
I would say it's a stage of building emotional intimacy with yourself. It's the card before The Fool in Tarot (my opinion). When I looked at The Fool I always thought "where did he just come from? What made him start his journey?". I'd say it's the Nigredo phase. So I wouldn't say it's a depression but it's an awareness of who ypu are, before you go to the deeper gates which are guarded by beings who will only let you pass if you know yourself.

@@hermeshub9456 im glad to hear you are coming back. I have been studying Jungs Works for a couple of years, and naturally myths and folklore, symbols etc. has become a part of the study now 🙂 and i must say your content is one of the best i have come across on youtube, and you are inviting people to participate in discussion and opinion on the subjects, and actually engaging actively in the topics put forward, and i aplaud you for that, in my opinion, the work of Carl Jung is of the most importance, for man to study in our time, we have lost our myth, our connection to our roots, and the arcehtypes is shown as mere tv shows and commercials. So thank you for taking the time to do this, its a contribution you should be proud of. Looking forward to the next, in the meantime i will continue my study :) i can recommend the book im reading now, The Science of Mythology, by Károly Kerényi and Carl Jung. Its a collaboration on the Child Archetype and the Maiden.
