Nijo Castle (二条城, Nijōjō) was built in 1603 as the Kyoto residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period (1603-1867).
After the Tokugawa Shogunate fell in 1867, Nijo Castle was used as an imperial palace for a while before being donated to the city and opened up to the public as a historic site.
二条城 (二条城、Nijojo) は、江戸時代 (1603 ～ 1867 年) の初代将軍、徳川家康の京都の居城として 1603 年に建てられました。
1867年に徳川幕府が崩壊すると、二条城はしばらく御所として使われていたが、市に寄贈され史跡として一般公開された。
