I am originally from Flin Flon Manitoba.When I was 15 years old I remember reading in the 1985 or 86 Winnipeg Free press newspaper that Nik Kershaw was playing at the renda vou in Winnipeg. I was to young to go to a concert by myself in Winnipeg at that time. Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't see him play in Winnipeg at that time. I don't know when he will be coming down to Canada next. I live in Calgary Alberta now with my parents

Nik Kershaw was and is an underrated talent. But, the bass player was a very big part of his sound. Some of the stuff he was doing was miles ahead of the times...
@nyxfan-ze8rq4 жыл бұрын
Even if the video quality isn't that good, it's so refreshing to see him so young in here. Many of his songs touched my heart a lot, from those here 'Human racing' for example. But I also enjoyed listening to the other songs again.

When music was sophisticated, arty lyrically fascinating. todays stuff is plastic in comparison doesn't even compare 80s will stand the test of time.
@pverrall6 жыл бұрын
With a few exceptions, (Simple Minds, U2, Smiths, Big Country, Nik Kershaw) 80's music was pretty plastic too, wasn't it? Hair metal, Human League, ABC, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Stock, Aitken & Waterman...
@griiseknoen6 жыл бұрын
Some artists, songwriters and producers are still making sophisticated HIGH QUALITY music with a shitload of depth, hidden within in a pop format. Pleasing on the first listen, but still interesting and rewarding the 15th time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6TYh4Cao6trd5I

@@pverrall Human League hairy music.. They are founders of New Wave, they are gods, without them wont be Kershaw as we know him, ABC, Duran Duran, Spandau are titans of New Wave, look what you writting, if do not have knowledge read Wiki

@@dariuskarvelis536 Wouldn't describe any of those bands as New Wave surely? They belong to the New Romantic thing, all style and image, but not a lot of lyrical substance.

If someone questions that 80es pop music cannot be played live bc all sequenced and computer - show him this vido. All it takes is a six piece band skilled musicians and every single iconic keyboard, sampler and synth of the era 😅 oh and a Wal bass, and a Jaydee bass of course.
