This is bizarre. I love it. The awkward camera angles. The awkward solo at the end. Rowan Atkinson on a whistle. A vile 80s bass guitar. Understanding entirely why Stewart Copeland wasn’t The Police’s singer but he’s having a riot anyway. The very British-ness of Children in Need. Spectacular.

yeah, and that's actually his guitar too, on Dont Box Me In with Stan Ridgeway. For a second there, i could of sworn that the guitar was Andy Summers or someone else

The first Police single ‘Fall Out’ / ‘Nothing Achieving’ was written by Copeland and he played guitar on the recordings because Henry Padovani didn’t the have studio experience necessary to cut the tracks against the clock. The Police were essentially, his project with his songs until Sting got involved.
