The bond between a player & a coach is so strong. They impact our lives in so many ways that people do not understand. When we’re not ourselves, they can sense it. They know how emotional life is for us & the ones who truly care about their players make a bond that is unbreakable. They’re tough on you because they see something in you that you yourself can’t see. This was so damn awesome. I love her.

New York doesn't have any lock down defensive players on their roster and lost the title because of it. And then they pass on Nika in the draft. Good choice. I'm sure Seattle doesn't mind.

😢😢😢😢and 😂😂😂😂. Paige, I guess, was filming this. Nika's words were so 'right on' and she gave so many people an inside look at who Geno is and what he has been doing for 39 years. Nika, no matter where you go you will run into UCONN wbb players who will tell you when they played for Geno and, I'm sure, share some experiences they had with him. Nika, with you in Seattle, Aaliyah in Washington, Dorka in Minnesota, Lou in Dallas, and on and on and on most of us will have to have special tv programming available for us. And, our neighbors will be wondering how come the light is always on at our place? What? You're watching a basketball game at 1am? Nika, like coach told you, show them how they mold players at UCONN. You are, indeed, a graduate of a very great program and always wear those colors proudly. "Good luck, dear. We love you!" 🥰

To Nika who is on her way to WNBA, this moment was a once in a lifetime moment with Geno. To Geno who is going nowhere, however, a moment like this repeated many times with his other former students who also headed to WNBA.

That’s why you coach, it really has less to do with wins and losses than people think. We get that there are scoreboards, that people notice and judge you. But when the games have stopped it’s the relationships you’ve built that last a lifetime. If you’re doing it right.

But since I brought up winning. How great would it be to see Paige get that National Championship, and Geno make it an even dozen. Then ride off into the sunset if he so chooses.

I was really upset how her career ended at UCONN letting them win or lose the game but having it taken like that after a season of career and everything they went through to have it outright stolen is totally unacceptable and it pissed me off.

@@heyarnoldfan12 - yeah, they should have done the stand and turn "legal" screen that everyone else does ... you know, the two that they did that helped Caitlin finally score that 3 coming out of halftime. Funny, she also had an "off night" the year before in the Phil Knight classic ... during the year Paige was out .. who was that covered the "amazing" CC that game ... oh yeah, Nika ... by herself ... slowed her down to an "off night" ... looks more like a template to me ...

All kinds of things happen in games; bad referee calls is just one of them. Bottom line, the UCONN gals should be very proud that they got that far - especially considering all the injuries they had during the season. Yeah, it sucks, but next season looks really promising for them. I'll be watching them, and Seattle!

It is impressively true that coach improves everyday. But the only way to make what you say TRUE, is if Geno accepts Seattle's offer to coach the team.
