Those PPV stage designs from the 2000s were AWESOME!!!! Some of the best parts of playing old wwe games is seeing all the cool stages they used to have back then very nostalgic

I think my favorite stage for Nostalgia sake was Backlash 2000 or 2001 where they had the large claw things swinging back and forth. I had that DVD way back when and watched it CONSTANTLY. One of the matches strangely enough was Lesnar and Jeff Hardy xD

I really loved the stage designs in the late 90's up to 2008. So unique and cool, well, most of the times. Judgement Day 2004 stands out for me. King Of The Ring 2001, Armageddon 2006, New Years Revolution 2005, Backlash 2001, man, so many great ones.

Excellent video, was hoping you would make this companion piece to the prior WCW one. The sets did get really cool, and absolutely created an atmosphere that is not present with the generic HD set nowadays. These things got the PPVs over & assured every viewer this wasn't some throwaway show/card.

Thanks! Every show feels the same... Honestly I'll turn on a PPV every so often and that "big time" feel just isn't there! It doesn't feel special... Feels like RAW with longer matches.

I definetely miss some of these stages, i think if they had a custom set on this year's Royal Rumble it would have make it a much more pleasent experience. Great video as always
@NikateeN8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Royal Rumble is the company's second biggest PPV, you would think they would make a custom stage for it. Especially since it's a show that focuses so much on the entrance area as wrestlers are constantly coming to the ring.

I thought they could've make it something special like in previous years considering they make a total remake of the image with the roman-esque design's

That's jokes af! I'd do the same thing too years ago when Heat was on just to see the ppv sets. They must have stopped doing it so they can go all out with the stage design for Mania, that's my theory.
@alexeosmith99937 жыл бұрын
Randy Lahey I see what your saying but mania had its own unique design in the late 90s and 2000s but the fact that soon wwe is probably going out of business they haven’t the money to design sets. I might be wrong and they might just not care about their product. They need something interesting because the wrestlers look a joke atm having a fat guy in a t-shirt that sounds unconfident as fuck on the mic being top man.
@alexeosmith99937 жыл бұрын

WM9 is one of my all time favorite venues. That said, it's the only WWF venue (aside from maybe a few from the attitude era) that can even hold a candle in comparison to some of WCW's stage designs. Halloween Havoc and Bash at the Beach being the best examples, but there are many, many more examples that one could cite. Good stuff, Nik!

A tracklist of the songs in the video would be awesome! Also, it is sad they cut out that raw (not intended as a reference) titantron structure they had during the Raw is War era. It looked like foundations for the sets were bare and uncovered which worked with the Attitude era. The parallelogram industrial look was also great. At least the belt looks better now than the John Cena spinner one. Sometimes simple designs are the best. Love the videos.

I might be the only one who likes the new sets. One time I played as Daniel Bryan in the WWE games and had him come out of the Bad Blood 03 set. It looked so lame to have just one video screen versus an entire wall of red graphics and "Yes!" everywhere. It didn't feel right

WWE used to be a lot more creative back in the 90's and 2000's. I guess the reason why the arenas look cheap and generic could be that they couldn't afford enough money and because of the rating going low. in short, WWE nowadays is flushing down the toilet

I was always a fan of the old WWF logo they used in the late 80's into the 90's. I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about. I wish just for 1 night, they would put the big stage away, the led lights and just put that up. It would be a nice throw back to the golden era

in 1993 and 1994 wwf held a house show in a venue named melody fair a indoor rotating stage circus tent type venue in North Tonawanda ny ten minute drive out of Buffalo ny this was also a venue only used in the summer I did not attend but I heard storys like the wrestlers could not climb the top rope and walked down the isle like the shield did and the ring barely fit on the stage not sure why they had a show at this venue house shows always used the Niagara falls convention center or buffalo memorial auditorium

I saw during a video of the WWE warehouse they went to LEDs because the older sets didn't look good in HD.
@cacomeat73856 жыл бұрын
Justin Felder well I didn't have hd tv until 2012 and the universal set looked like SHIT on my good old CRT's, so they definitely can't please everybody. One plus to the LEDs is the fact that you can use more logos for wrestler entrances to compliment the main titantron but that's it.

they still have all of the old ppv sets some where why don't use it again
@pigs185 жыл бұрын
Because they often have NXT and Raw at the same venue. A unique set means having to break down the stage on Saturday night, constructing a new stage on Sunday, breaking that stage down after the show and putting the original stage back up on Monday.

I really do miss they older set designs that they had for raw and smackdown. Especially the fist design. It just really fit the style of smackdown. Now the sets are way to generic and safe. Neither show feels unique. I can understand why they got rid of the fist since it was a hassle to have but i would prefer a different design that would scream a different persona. Style and taste is way better then generic and modern.
@NikateeN8 жыл бұрын
