Chris, I had the originals, and I worked in a UK Footlocker in 1990. These were always called the SC3's, with the previous version being called the SC2's (the one with the removeable velcro forefoot strap, & separate padded ankle piece). A Nike rep who visited the store also told us back in the day that if there was a visible window, there was always a separate forefoot air unit. They provided us with loads of air units to show to customers also. I remember the orange part of the tongue being a silky material too, that one looks a little rougher to the touch?

We always called them Bo Jackson back in da days. They came out with 3 colors. Auburn color, Raiders color and Royals color. Raiders color back then had 34 on the back and Royals had 8 on the back. They were terrible basketball shoe, better casual wear.

The BEST pair of shoes I’ve ever owned! So comfortable. I wore nothing but then for about three years of my 20s. Now as a man close to 60 I see that I can have a pair, noice!

I absolutely loved these - but the only problem I had with them is that particular rubber compound in some of them was too soft for a sneaker you can do almost anything in. Very often you burn through those outsoles while the upper is still in amazing shape and looks better with age also 👌🏿

*not full length air. It has air in the rear and then a seperate one in the front. The Air Mariah the same year had FULL length air though.

These are my youth! I had Air Trainer IIIs in high school. I'm so glad Chris likes these. To me they encapsulate 90s fun. I remember the leather being fairly thick but the stitching wasn't always super great and they eventually fell apart. But damn I loved them ❤️

Had these in the 90’s and recently my wife found some and hooked me up with a pair as a surprise. May be/sound corny and I don’t care but they immediately took me back to when I first got a pair. I actually like pretty much all of the color schemes, too. These, Barkley’s, Pippen’s, Rodman’s, Shawn Kemps, David Robinson’s Dee Brown’s Pumps and all of the MJ’s are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Classics. Man, the Auburn cw has been retro’d helllllaaa times. 😊🤷🏻‍♂️ I remember the 98 retros. Hecka people had them. These always hit outlets for $50-$60 but, I’ve never grabbed a pair. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️. I like the Raiders cw. I grew a Niners fan so, I’ve never grabbed them either. Lol

Back in the late 80’s and 90’s, I was a big fan of cross trainers. My first pair was the one that featured Bo Jackson in the medicine ball color-way. Right now, I’m in the process of trying to secure the shoe you just featured, but in the KC Royals color-way.

These were my first Nikes in 1990! I had the choice between these and the Air Jordan’s, but chose these to save my parents money…plus at the time didn’t know who Jordan was, I picked up basketball the following year. Yes, I copped crap from everyone over the choice. But when your parents are poor & you have large feet, you make the financial choice.

aww something similar in mexico but here, just can get these in low quantities, no much models but i got mines and yes were a bit cheaper than the jordans, but in my case these were stacked with a better set up, more air, i mean, also visible at these times, i think were before tham the jordan3, but i dont remember so well but also the Utra force, were another basketballl with the visible air in hell and forefoor non visible

I had those exact shoes when I was a kid and they had heel with a separate forefoot air unit. The Air Trainer 1 is the only trainer with full-length air that I can think of unless it's visible like the Ubiquitous max or Pillar. I'm always suspicious if there is forefoot air in retros as we all know how Nike skimps on stuff unless someone cuts them in half to verify. Keep up the great work you two!

I got the last retro of these and the paint started peeling around the heel pretty early on, so I haven't work them as often as I'd like to. Copped a new pair last week so now I can wear the old pair more often and not worry so much if they get beat up.

When I was kid I use to wear really garbage velcro sneakers. I wanted to change that up so every year on my birthday my Grams would buy me sneakers my first pair was jordan 6 infrared. Wore em till the heels fell off. This was my second pair. I absolutely loved these as a kid. So many memories all the "Bo Knows" swag an commercials. I had an all white pair with a little bit of Carolina Blue in the early 2000s. I didn’t notice a forefoot air unit when they eventually fell apart. I have the recent 180 version of those with lunarlon in the forefoot that I got a few years ago. Much more comfortable!

Strange. I have the previous release still on ice and the materials feel fairly good. I believe they went down in quality. Love these though! Also to mention, the foam feels incredibly comfortable on my pair, so much that I think it's phylon instead of PU. I sized mine half down and they're perfect too. So I guess sizing changed here

That “Bo Knows” advertising campaigns were genius and fit perfectly in capturing the cross-training versatility of the shoe… although Bo only played 2 sports. These would be great as a ProTro.

I'm currently in Green Acres mall looking at these right now. As an 80's baby, these are a must-have. I'm just trying to figure out if I should order them in a size 14 because I don't want them to be too small when they arrive. I'm a 14/15 in most of my footwear.

The graphic is accurate. The retros were renumbered, for example: Air Trainer TW became the Air Trainer 2, Air Trainer SC became the Air Trainer 3

hellooo from mexico,,,, it was one of my fav pair i ever used in the early;s trainers frist the 1. clorophiyl. then the SC. i wore the blue roya. and gray, and another pair in green and gray, and both were used till the end, and both were stacked with a air in the heel. and capsule on the forefoot, the weir thing is that the right foot. was used a bigger capsule, and the left was smaller, suppoused cause is to give the base ball support , but i took off in both, in fact, i cut the blues ones, made them LOWS.. and were for me part of how much i loved and wanted to watch em ending in the gray collar as the trainers 1 stiyle , and still were wearable, i got a retros, in the 2015 but in a non fav colour theme was like baby blue, and gray, but the escence was there, but those three, the midsole foam , collapsed, it crumbled, into dust, but is a lengendary sneacker, in all my swimmer age, i was a nationan and centro american swimmer championships, and to wear a SC trainners, or a nike air tech huarache, form the agassi lines, the black ones with purple forefoot front were so hyped. awww alla many memories. and i actualy i just have a trainer iii... the camo version.. in 10 US hope not to boring and excuse me my bad english but im a real fan of these models! and deep from heart fan of your channel chris!! saludos!! y abrazos
