I bought the Winflo as a walk around shoe for a trip to Hawaii. I was surprised that its very comfortable and can take it for three mile runs when time is short on a work day. I got the color all black so I didn't notice the gluing. It seems fine and the outer sole is good for rainy days. So as a discount shoe its ok, better than Addidas Solarboost 3 which is too firm.

In my opinion Winflo is a model that is almost always bought at a discount price. First of all, it's sold also in those warehouse type of retailers that don't get any better shoes from Nike. List price there is lower than the suggested retail price. When they have weekly offers, then the price can be really good, which makes the gap between Winflo and Pegasus bigger. Winflo is a good shoe for people who don't use it only for running but it must be cheap. For example teenagers who need a shoe for school sports or people who occasionally jog but often just walk a dog or even people who need running shoes for cottage life where shoes can get dirty quickly.

If it is of any comfort for you Fordy, I currently have some 60 pairs of running shoes at home. Significantly more than a half of them are either "meh" or outright garbage that usually look really good (some Adidas, Nike, Brooks and Mizuno). But that's the price you pay if you always want to try something new, something better or you are just simply nuts. I wouldn't otherwise discover Vaporfly, Metaspeed Sky or Nitro Elite. In these 3 I spent now most of my runnings. Yeah, I know it's nuts, I admit. But I enyoj my runnings more than before.

Ran a great marathon in the Winflo 4 several years back. Every time I've tried on a model since, they just haven't been as comfortable. Agree that it's probably better to just pick up previous year Peg over new Winflo.

I had the same issue! I went through three pairs of Winflo 4s until they went out of circulation - they got me through 3 years of half marathins. Had 2 bad pairs of Nikes and never went back, cushioning was just never there

@@GF.2493 Yeah, the Winflo 4s were a special shoe. I agree that React foam isn't for everybody, but I really came to enjoy Epic React, Odyssey React, Vomero 14, and Zoom Fly. Been a while since I got a Pegasus, but a lot of people have been singing the 39s praises so I may need to give them a shot when they go on sale.

Winflo 4 was a great shoe. One of my all time favourites. Ran some of my quickest ever times across all distances in them

I bought these for cheap in Vegas as a replacement for my Adidas Supernovas. The adidas are ok, but have a small toe box which doesnt suit me, so I've pushed holes through the tops with my big tone nails. The Nikes are bigger and have a very bouncy sole. I found on my 2nd 5k run out on these I was faster and much less tired at the end, so for a cheap short range shoe, these seem pretty good

Its such a comfy shoe, comfiest winflo to date, much softer than the peg 39. The air strobel is the best addition yet. Dunno if thats good for running but for walking its amazing

100% agree. Got these today and wow, they feel like max cushion shoes on a budget to me, something you don't expect in this price range. I have shoes that cost 2x as much and don't feel as plush. A hidden gem i'd say.

I had the winflo 7 and loved it (still wear it as a knock about), I replaced it with the Peg38 and felt the winflo 7 was better for me. I'd definitely like to try the winflo 9.

I had the winflo 6, 7, 8 and 9. The winflo 7 was very good for long runs and walks. The winflo 8 was a huge step down in terms of comfort due to the toe box. The winflo 9 is step up from the winflo 7 as it really feels like you are walking on air. However, the materials of winflo 9 will not last as long as the 7 or the 8. So put this point into consideration when buying this shoe. Winflo 9 is a great shoe but the materials aren’t that great and won’t last for a long time. The winflo 9 is way more breathable and comfortable compared to the winflo 8, but like Fordy Runs has said after long runs, you will start to feel the ground a bit unlike the air zoom unit in the winflo 7 and 8.

I find these comfortable, but!, the left shoes is faulty and the foam base squeeks. I got mine for 60 on sale so not the end of the world but ... They drive me crazy walking around in them.

Always been half interested in the Winflo as it retained cushlon so thought to myself “wonder if it feels like the Pegasus 36 that everyone seemed to love”, but I think to sum up. If you want to buy the Winflo 9, buy the Reebok Floatride Energy 4.

I use it as a shoe for work and walking. I wouldn’t run in these maybe very slow places at 3 miles tops. Other than that, I just find it injury prone.

Nike EVA (Cuslon) has been crap for years. I never understood why so many people gave it high marks. It has good step-in comfort, but breaks down quickly, especially for heavier runners. I respect you taking one for the team to try to take this shoe on a longer run. IMO, at best I might consider something like this on a treadmill. On a road surface, there are so many other options.

@@watabakarpa31 The Pegasus will always be better then the Winflo . I got the Pegasus 39 FlyEasy version and I love it. Same price and weight of the normal 39 and it is wide with a great lockdown. 400km later and my Pegasus 39 FlyEasy is still new ,well the gray/white colored upper is a bit dirty .

Well well, all Nikes daily offerings I’ve tried over the last 2 years are all crap. Just picked up a pair of Endorphins Speed 2, gutted I didn’t try Saucony sooner. They absolutely smash the Miler and the Pegasus to pieces

I made the same move last year, though I went with the Endorphin Speed. My heavy discount kept me in the Nike stable for so long. I've since added Asics to the rotation as well. I really like their FF Blast foam. I can't think of a single Nike shoe that isn't beaten by the competition. Even at a heavy discount, I won't buy another Nike running shoe.

Since you love New Balance 1080 v12, it would be interesting if you can review New Balance Arishi v4, the siblings of NB 1080. The NB Arishi v4 is in the price range of Nike Winflo 9 as well. Then only you can compare the quality of similar price range running shoes.

I've got Winflo 7 and yesterday looked at these at the store and didn't really like it.. didn't try them but from the reviews I saw saying the cushion is not that responsive and it feels more unstable somehow.. May need to step up a bit my budget 😅

Hi! Considering to get one of those. But I had a bad experience with the Winflo 8. As you noticed in the review too, it was overpronating just standing. Was that fixed in the 9s?

Winflo 9 is WAY better than Winflo 8. Winflo 8 is a stiff ride & quite narrow. The 9 is a bit more cushy and wide toe box.

Nikes QA is rubbish, so much so that after buying alphaflys that the outsole glue failed on after 15k, I’ll never buy any running shoes from them again! (I will say however I was given a full refund, so their customer service department is pretty good!)
