I've been wearing leather Cortez since 1981. The reason you can't tell a difference in the way the exterior leather feels is Nike has lowered its quality for mass production and higher profits. I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn both companies source the leather from the same supplier IN CHINA.

you got the Cortez classic, the ones that have the 72 metal plate are the cortez basic. the difference is the leather in the classic is a better quality, other then that and the 72 metal plate they look the same. the classic cost about 20 dollars more then the basic.

Yep those stitches always a thing same with suede's That's the first thing that give fake shoe away. I always wonder isn't it that hard to figure how to stitch them the right way?)) Yep I had in the 1990's some Converse Take Addias Superstar, the low top model not the High top original made first for Kareem in the 1970's. Though the Converse model was comfortable once the shoe had to wear in a tad, they did not last nearly as long as the Addidas Superstar would as the nose cap came off early.

You can ask the vendors to send images of the actual shoe and also buy a boy from them. they ship without boxes to reduce shipping costs and to avoid taxes/duties in the port of arrival.
