I totally feel you about the tapered heel shape being sketchy. I broke my ankle wearing a skate shoe with a skinny, tapered heel and I'm convinced (no scientific proof) that it was the heel being skinny that allowed the ankle-roll to turn into a break... not mentioning the gross pilot error. Heel shape is now a BIG factor in how I select a shoe to skate in. Aside: Istanbul has cats like my city (Hamilton) has squirrels. They're everywhere!

Spot on mate. I enjoyed the shape of them! I did have a nasty ankle turn in them too! Wouldn’t buy again purely because the sole wore out waaaaay too fast! The vans Kyle Walker pro felt like these but with the waffle sole 💪

I skate the exact same shoe. I love them entirely, they have more padding around the ankle than the average shoe, but you're right about breaking them in. The pop and flick feels amazing!

i can confirm that it is very easy to turn an ankle in these. i have never really had any issues with ankle sprains until i tried these.

PS- Adidas used to make perfect shell toe shoes called Ultrastar's. Just like superstars but wider heel and split heel back. Not sure why you cant get them anymore. I went through a ton of pairs

The better pop with a stiff cupsole is something I notice for sure. It's actually why I still prefer thick cupsoles like the Accel OGs over anything else

Your right. I just realized it the other day, been skating 2 pairs of cupsoles lately, im a Vulc guy for sure. Slip on vulc emericas is my skate shoe, but the nikes with cupsoles I noticed this weekend I ollied at least a few inches higher first try

Haven't skated these but couldn't agree more an the Adidas shell-toes. I love the aesthetic of them and the flick, skated a ton of them in the 90s, but when I got the new ones I have never rolled my ankle so many times...even just walking around the yard! I like the look of these too, but can't do it because of my old ankles.

I rolled my ankle in these. I loved them at first but I know I tend to develope a suspicion about shoes i roll my ankle in. I agree the flick and heel are great but the sole went out on me too soon which caused my foot to slide off the board and tweak pretty hard down a 4 stair but if I had more grip I feel like I would of just fell off the board and hit the ground, not roll my ankle. Either way they skated pretty good at first with FP insoles in. Swap them out when the sole is worn out. I had no pain and I liked the wide foot I always have trouble finding skateshoes wide enough. Im skating Blazers hightops now. Im probably never going back 😂😂😂

ancient concrete, non pourous aggregate. concrete keeps setting and getting harder the older it gets. My favourite concrete to grind is the stuff with rounded river stone as aggregate. feels so good

From your review it seems like the perfect completion of the new Nike shoe is a comparable shoe - és accel slim. I personally vouch for these shoes being some of the best skate shoes I’ve ever worn!

Nice. I got these on sale last week just to try em out and instantly had to swap the sole out for my sti foams. Makes it feel much less like a plastic brick on your feet.

I just bought a pair from my local skateshop and right out of the box I'm pretty impressed with them. I went with a half size larger than what I normally wear so I'm hoping they don't stretch too much. About to do some preventative shoe-goo-ing tonight

I roll my ankle in the middle a lot of times, so I only buy shoes that measure over 3 inches across in the middle. The widest shoe I have is a jordan 1, wider than dunks. Second widest is Emerica. Everything else is too skinny for me. I got a Fat foot

The heal flick in these are amazing I’ve Ben skating these since they came out had the pink toe and blue toe pairs originall ones and fell in love instantly because their like a techy Nike sb dunk low

if within the many pairs of dunks ive bought had experienced the bottom wearing down like them, or es accel slims, then i wouldnt buy them again. NikeSB Dunks have the best sole ever. it doesnt wear down from shimmying foot, the heels dont wear down with the way i walk. dunks are a very solid built cupsole and good protection and not thinly structured like es accel slims. so for u to say these are like a techy dunk is wrong. maybe a blazer? if you check out ZOOM TRE, that is 100% a futuristic dunk that doesnt wear down, even the rubber mesh toecap was the best. why wouldnt nike make them anymore? because they last well. when they bring a dunk with rubber mesh toecap im gonna buy them bad boys.
