This shoe is classic Nike. They’ll take a generally well received model/line and completely start over from the ground up. Everything will be different, the design, the cushion and most important: the performance. It’s so strange, I’m not sure why they like to alienate their customers.

Facts. And they put all their best stuff on separate shoes and never combine them all into one shoe. I still don’t understand why every single Nike shoe doesn’t use the traction they had on the Kobe 9s and why every shoes doesn’t have zoom strobel. The consumers love it, give it to them

Can you give us details on the board between the food and foam. Why some are thicker and harder than others. Like, Li-Ning uses like a nylon one in theirs. Also. Not sure why so many are hating on the lack of a drop in midsole. The Nike PG 6 is probably better than any GT line shoe. Anyone who has one both, I’m sure would agree. The solid foam is OP for shifty hoopers.

So I just got these and tried them out. They are amazing and problematic at the same time. When I first put my foot in I didn’t feel the cushion but when you walk and your heel hits the ground it is AMAAAAAAZING! I hope they don’t bottom out. The traction is perfect and the weight is like a feather. Only issues is the lateral stability is not good. The base is skinny and it feels like you sit higher than expected. Going forward and backwards is elite but side to side is kind of bad. I also think not having the shank plate was a miss. I don’t mind the less than premium material because it helps with the weight. I paid 200 and honestly it’s not worth that. Maybe 150, but I’d rather have the AE1 for 120 or Sabrina 1 for 130

Do you think you could stack an orthotic on top of the drop in midsole for the GT Cut 3? I couldn't really do it without my foot almost popping out of the shoe on the GT Cut 2, even up a full size. I could take out the drop in midsole and fit my own orthotic in, but that kind of defeats the point with the GT Cut 2 imo. Wanted to get your opinion to see if I could do this with the Cut 3.

I recently added a few ZoomX based running shoes to my rotation (Pegasus Turbo and Vomero 16), along with my Zoom Air running shoes (Pegasus 40). I really want to like ZoomX on its own. The cushioning itself is 90% of what Zoom Air delivers which I love. My issue is that ZoomX isn't nearly as stable as Zoom Air. The issue with the Cut GT may be the "window" exposing the ZoomX like an Air bag. My Peg Turbo has that occasional instability issue that may be because it's fully exposed like the adidas UltraBoost. Even though I haven't gone past a walking pace in my UltraBoost, it's a bit more stable because the cushioning is more rigid. Maybe a less exposed and harder encasement would help with those issues.

Peba or “ZoomX” is very resilient. As long as they didn’tmix anything with it in the formula, they don’t bottom out quickly like cushlon or other standard foams. Their running shoes last 300-500 or more miles and still have the bounce just not as much as a fresh pair. Carbon is used to add stability only(like in the Nike Alphafly)

thats not how it works, the plate prevents hotspots which makes the foam last longe depending on pressure distribution before losing elasticity depending on the foam. Some foams are open cell, some are closed some have plastics mixed in to add elasticity essentially making a plate for the sole purpose of longevity non relevant. I can understand how you may think that but thats not how material science works.

The first cosmic unity is an excellent bball shoe: one downside: a little tight on the toebox. Cushion and insole is great, stability great, traction great (I did not try it in indoor, only on rubberized courts), heel to toe transition is great. Most reviewer complain about heel slippage, I have a little chunkier leg and ankle, so I do not experience it. Also many says, that the shoe is bulky, that's totally not true imo. So on a discount I would say big yes.

Great video. However based on your review and what im looking to get from this shoe, I think it would be a no go for me. Reasons are as follows 1. Too expensive 2. Reduction in tech 3. Don't seem to be stable However, for me I was a fan of the 2s. For the price and what it provide and had grown to love it. The biggest highlight of the shoe was the cushion. Which for me was great. Took some time to break in but once broken in, it became a great performer.
@adamkanizsai2990
@adamkanizsai2990 4 ай бұрын
I have the a 2s, but I cannot play in them (I have tried, now I want to sell them, but nobody wants to buy them for 100 bucks), so I am just asking (ralated to your 3 point): how can that model be stable, if the cushion is very high of the ground and if I remember correctly, no midfoot shank is implemented into the shoe, and no real outriggers on them? Let's be honest: most people like the 2s, because after the the lack of availability of the ones, Nike massproduced them, and they are on crazy discounts. Additionally I really think, real hoopers don't like and buy it. Even all the testers hate it, and it is real reason behind it. Everybody talks about tech reduction. I don't get it. ZoomX is the most expensive cushioning tech from Nike, as far as I know (if I remember correctly, the ZoomX running shoes are over 200$). So how can it be a tech reduction? just because it's a foam and not some air pumped unit?
@jessematthie3646
@jessematthie3646 4 ай бұрын
@adamkanizsai2990 well to me, no foam setup is better than air zoom or zoom air (whatever you like to call it). From all the tech that nike has to offer, react drop in, full length zoom with a heel zoom, with a little bit of pylon midsole. To just pylon and zoomX? 🤷. Alot people including myself, did jump on the 2s cause I missed out on the ones. More releases more colorways than the 2. But when I got my pair and tested them. I grew to like the shoe. The main knock for the 2s is the traction. Imagine if the 2s had the ones traction. A lot more people would be like the shoe.

The narrow squishy ZoomX heel looks like a great way to roll an ankle. I’m sure it’s a “fast” shoe compared to GT Jump 2, but speed don’t matter anymore if you sprain an ankle.
@Mcali1984
@Mcali1984 4 ай бұрын
The forefoot is where it’s more likely to cause a roll. And it’s larger there to help reduce the likelihood of a roll. But it’s still going to be more likely in these. Which is why this shoe def isn’t for people who don’t have good stability in their feet.

@@Mcali1984 Unfortunately after rebounds roll on the the heel area is also not uncommon. Or at least that's my experience.

Hi Zach, can give me your expertise on how long insoles should last? I want to buy some Move Insoles and I just want to know when I should replace them? Like how many hours? Keep up the great work!

The sole reminds mo of the Lebron 17 material. Picks up dust pretty fast, need to wipe it almost every possession for grip but sticks greatly on clean squeaky courts.

Wow, very disappointed to see the midsole setup of these. Not sure why they tried to improve anymore on the GT Cut 1 (probably cost reasons), wish they just kept that setup for all future models (or just re-released the GT Cut 1 perpetually)

With the narrow heel and zoomx it seems like they used the formula for a running shoe and threw in some really basic basketball stuff into it. Rather strange

It’s crazy that nike would waste such a cool silhouette (this is the Alphafly silhouette, bball version) on such a weak build. Specially at $190 it’s insane. A decent TPU shank with a more breathable tongue and an stiff ankle collar would make this 5x the shoe.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't quite understand those very thick ankle and tongue paddings. I have a lot of basketballshoes, and I don't have any problems with the ones that don't have any or very minimal ankle or/and tounge collars (Kobes, cheaper Nike models, older Nike models, Jordan Take Ones, Jordan React Elevation etc), however the ones with thick padding really irritates my ankle or my instep, so I cannot wear or play in them (AJ 14, Lebron models - Zoom Generation, NXXT, etc). And as Zach mentions here, due to the trapped moisture it can be a weakness of the shoe. Totally unnecessary imo.
