Nike Invincible 3 Vs Asics Novablast 4 | Three runners choose their favourite cushioned running shoe

I got my Invincible Run 3 in a very good Black Friday deal and I'm loving these shoes. l have no heel slips, no lockdown problems or stability concerns. It is just a bit harder to go slowly since it wants to make me run faster. But I don't agree with many people that considers it the most cushioning shoes ever. I find these shoes as comfortable and the Invincible 3 and much softer middlesole: Gel-Nimbus 25, Wave Sky 7 and the Nike Infinity Run 4. I actually find both Invincible 3 and the Sky 7 more stable for my overpronation them the other shoes I have mentioned above. I'm sure the Nova Blast 4 are awesome shoes, but from Asics ,I prefer to go with the Gel-Nimbus 26 when I go buy a new max cushioning shoes. And lets see what Nike will do with the Invincible 4 ...

I've loved the Invincible 3 as well. That said, I just bought the Nova 4's and plan to rotate them with my Invincible 3's...we'll see!

I’m someone that is quite happy to have a multi shoe rotation. In that context I really like the Invincible 3 as it only needs to play one role for me: lots and lots of comfy, zone 2 km’s. I was concerned about heel slip before purchasing but it really has not been an issue - at first it didn’t feel as secure but it’s more of a ‘feeling’ problem than actual reality, so once you’ve clocked some time with the shoe it’s completely forgettable. It’s also just not an issue if you’re not trying to push the speed. I definitely wouldn’t buy it as a versatile shoe to do everything in but for the job it has I love this shoe.

I think your comments are spot on about the “heel slip”. I was very worried about it at first but that feeling has disappeared

Honest and fair review however way too kind to Invincible 3. Invincible clunky and no pop. Better comparison for Novablast 4 might be Zoomx Fly 5. Appreciate what you bring to novice runners around the world.

I’m confused. I thought the Novablast was a daily trainer, now it’s a max cushioned shoe?

The forth version gained a decent amount of stack, but it is quite a bit firmer like a Nimbus for example. So you can put it in both categories depending on your criterias. I own a pair of Nova 4 and I would categorize them as a daily trainer.

Massive disappointment on the Invincible 3. Sad, because I was a really big fan of the first two iterations. I'm one of those runners who's heel has been slipping on the Invincible 3, regardless of how much I tightly cinch the laces, extra eyelet too boot. The Novablast 4, on the other hand, I'm totally loving!

I think the shoe will suit heavy runners pretty well. It's stable and a has enough firmness to support them.

I am 6”5 with around 200lb. I have the Nova 4 and it’s great for long distances training. I tried the invincible 3 at the store and they were incredibly unstable.
