It should have been noted on the comparison screen that the stack is the same but Asics used to report stack height in a different way than the rest of manufacturers. Right now it looks like Novablast 4 is much higher than the 3 which is not true.
@gardnerbeach806911 ай бұрын
yeah this is missed on the stat sheet. Any reason asics did it so different so so long?
@viCoN2411 ай бұрын
No idea. It made sense on its own because they would only state how much foam there is in the midsole. However, the competition could sum up everything and claim that Asics shoes are same price but worse on paper over some metric. Now the comparison against competition is easier for the new customer and fair for Novablast 4/Asics against others. I think this makes it easier for Asics to fight for the new customer base. Old Novablast users will see that the stack looks the same and will get that the metric probably changed. New users will see Novablast 3/4 having much lower stack compared to the competition of the same price and pick the competitor for higher stack for the same price. This is the case where there was nothing wrong with the metric itself. It's just that the definition drifted and they changed it to match the market's expectations.
The Novablast 3 is such an affordable shoe to do a lot of easy or long runs in. I don't need supershoes for every run and I think they are a lot more fun to run in than for example a Pegasus... 😁

The Novablast 3 was a easy day shoe that offered that recovery day pace, with that said I later tried the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 TR and found my new go to shoe for easy days and long run that offered that little bit of extra I needed from a shoe. As always great comparison great job guys. Happy Holidays 🎉

How do the nimbus 25 TRs do on trails?
@expatadventureturkey932411 ай бұрын
@@Lucky-lp8do I would say the Gel Nimbus TR is a buffed out trail type of shoe, fire roads buff out trails nothing too technical. Dry conditions preferably

NVB3 seems good so far, but I wish the tongue had a little more padding. They should have copied the raised pad that’s on the middle of the tongue on the Hoka Mach 5.

3 runs in the NB4 so far, the forefoot comfort is a huge improvement in my opinion. I’m really digging the upper, outsole rubber, and overall feel. It’s promising.
@kevinclark508611 ай бұрын
Only done a couple of runs in NB4 one tempo one long run. I think it definitely felt better on the tempo run. Never ran in the NB3 but have over 400 miles in the superblast. No complaints so far but early days.
@johnbon744910 ай бұрын
NB3 was a slight disappointment at beginning, even wanted to return them, but after ~50km I really started to like them. They change from quite rigid dead shoe to a soft bounce. Ordered another pair in discount before they will be gone forever. Put new shoe on one foot and old one on other and it's totally different. No wonder many people didn't like them.

Thank you for your review! Would you choose Asics Novablast 3 or Triumph 20?
@MiracleWarriors11 ай бұрын
From Asics, I do prefer the Gel-Cumulus or the GT 2000 instead of the Nova Blast line. Can't wait to see if the Gel-Cumulus 26 got the traction that the Gel-Nimbus 26 got and if the upper got updated to be more snug with a better lockdown.

Cumulus and GT are such different shoes to each other let alone this one.

How is cumulus 25? I am currently running in culumus 24 for around 500km. Its a solid shoe i use for long runs (15-25k)
@MiracleWarriors11 ай бұрын
@lowzyyy just saw one photo from the Gel-Cumulus 26, and the design seems that it will be slim more like version 23 . I guess it will have a similar rubber distribution of the already above Gel-Nimbus 26 and I hope you that the traction will also be improved to make the Cumulus 26 even more versatile. I did not have the Gel-Cumulus 25 last year, got the Gel-Nimbus 25 instead.

I’m about to run my first full marathon on May 26. Strongly considering the Novablast 4 to break in now and run in on race day. Do you think that will work for me as someone targeting a sub-4? I’m coming from a Hoka Mach 5, which is basically all I’ve ever known in my very limited time running. Thanks!

I cant believe you said the NB3 didnt feel bouncy to you
@fredriksvard26034 ай бұрын
Boston 12 and endorphin speed are much bouncier in my experience. Nb3 felt alive the first 100km but went flat after that. Still usable but forgettable. I suppose it varies with weight and technique.

Appreciate the differing oppinions of both presenters and quite surprising to the amount of negativity for the Novablast 3 from the last presenter's review considering it was a hit in 2023. I understand it's not as grippy shoe, but I want it to last at least 500 miles as my recovery and longer distance runs with some zip. Great grip shoes don't last more than 300 miles. I rely on my skills as a runner to keep me upright 😅. Can't be any worse than the glideride 1 grip. I paid £78 for a new pair of Novablast 3 hope they surprise me pleasantly.

I have 2 pairs of Novablast 3. The first pair clocked 1,400km, and I’m still wearing the second pair - 400km so far. I feel that Novablast 3 is a rigid pair of shoes. I only bought the two pairs because they were actually on sale - bought them for 75 euros each pair. I also have a Superblast but I don’t think they worked for me. I’ll stick with the Novablast series only because they are reasonable and wallet friendly.
