I was expecting so much from the KD 11, but man they're looking like a letdown. I know you said you're not the end all be all, but you have a good track record so I'm taking your word. I was actually trying to buy a new pair of basketball shoes this month. It was between these and the Kobe 1 Protro, I'm glad I went ahead and bought the Protro today. The intros have been killing me lol, keep up the great reviews.

I have been hooping in these for a few weeks and they are a great shoe i went down half a size and they fit great and i have no containment issues at all.

I feel the same thing about the lateral support. Because of the high midsole, overly-stretchy flyknit on the side and NO outrigger at all, I feel super insecure when I make hard cuts. Except for the cushion, everything else is way below average. I really hope that Nike would make an elite version to fix all these problems, because I feel this type of cushion set up deserves a better overall fit and support😩

Done testing the pair and has played them on a painted concrete court. Luckily, the issues - I never encountered them. Takeaways: 1. The traction pattern works really well on semi-rough surfaces much like painted concrete. 2. Stability issues may arise if your style of play relies heavily on lateral movements. Linear players, in my opinion may not experience it. This shoe also looks cool to rock casually. KD 9 has always been a favorite for me, but the KD 11 replaces it. Much thanks NW.

BJ Mandia I also tried them on a painted concrete court. I must say I felt good playing with them KD XI because I can go full speed when running up and down the court without any problems and felt really comfortable especially when landing.

I agree with DJ Solid. There are only a handful of great bball sneakers. Heck, I still heavily use my Curry 2 lows and KD9s, haha. Also, the Jordan 13 is also my favorite retro sneaker to hoop in. AMAZING balance between court feel and cushioning, great support and lockdown, VERY durable, and once broken in, the leather feels AMAZING. I’m 17 yrs old, I grew up watching Steph Curry, not MJ, but I love playing in retro, 90s sneakers, haha

These shoes are specifically made for KD. He likes them loose since he had he’s broken foot in 2015, and gets a lot of comfort for he’s jumper heavy style, with just enough stability to glide to the cup. If you play like a stretch 4 or small forward these will be great. Also if you’re a catch and shoot. If you’re a heavy iso player with tons of drive and cuts then it’s probably not for tou

Super helpful to know how these shoes were for you; thanks for this review! I hope this comment will help everyone understand more about the KD11s since I've read this somewhere, but please correct me if I'm wrong. When they approached the process of making the KD11, Kevin loved the fit of the upper of the Epic Reacts and the Flyknit Trainers, and he wanted that kind of fit for the upper to be implemented in the KD11s. The Epic Reacts and Flyknit Trainers have no lateral support; they're running shoes (well, the Flyknit Trainer WAS a running trainer), so if the KD11s were meant to mimick that similarity, that could explain why the KD11s have far less containment and much more stretch than it should have. Combine that with the fact that he's playing with a SQUAD... Steph, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, Livingston + many others (and SOON WITH DEMARCUS)? He doesn't have to play the way he used to play when he was in OKC anymore (at least all the time). He can slow way down and just keep pulling up like he's been doing, because GSW creates so much space that anything can happen, really. In a nutshell, he can go play in his "Just Us" cap, Tech Fleece outfit and Epic Reacts for all 82 games, and GS will still kill whoever by 50 points.

That is why I LOVE my Curry 5s. I haven’t experienced blisters on my feet, probably because I’m flat footed, the traction holds up very well (cause my court rarely gets dusty), and cushion was enough for me. However, the feature of the Curry 5s, in my opinion, is the support and lockdown. The full length knit upper provides a really good and comfortable fit, while the Anafoam overlay and the support coming from the midsole is phenomenal. Very minimal, yet still very supportive.

I loved this shoe it was a really good shoe for me because my foot is very long and narrow and the fit was better. I found the cushioning extremely good especially since I'm a explosive Point Guard I found it very supportive when coming down from a rebound or a layup.

Thanks for the review. I love my KD 9s and was looking forward to getting the KD 11. I bought the LB 15 lows. They are comfortable. Tried on the Kobe 1 Proto. Didn't care for them much. I was wearing my Concords and the Kobes didn't feel as comfortable. However, I probably had to wait to break them in. All of your reviews are on point and speak the truth. Keep up the great reviews. BTW are you disappointed the WB Animated came out with a second Death of Superman?

I didnt get the kds at first because of your review but a buddy hooked me up with a pair and im not gonna lie they are my favorite shoe right now to hoop in . I went down half a size and they fit me like a sock and have no issue with containment if anyone is wanting these go try them on I went down half a size and they fit amazing and like i said no issue with containment and im a pretty solid guy 6 foot 3 and 220 but i would recommend going down half a size I bet if Nightwing went down half a size or even a full size and retested them he would have a way more positive experience. the cushion and traction are amazing also this shoe overall is one of the best shoes i have hooped in for a while now.

When I bought these I was in a 10.5 now that I’m in a 12 they surprisingly still fit and foot containing is 10x better. So if you are going to buy these, by them a half size down and they should last for 2-3 years

I hope Jordan or LeBron uses a similar cushioning set up for their shoes, mainly because they use a mid-cut design. I've been a huge fan of multi-tech cushioning since I picked up the Zoom Vomero (heel and forefoot Zoom in a mostly Lunarlon midsole) to work out in. They've been great and I'd love to see it in a mid-cut basketball shoe.

Greta video pretty much spot on. Had a pair myself absolutely amazing cushioning but lockdown wasn’t a thing in these. Ended up hurting my foot real bad during a game of ball wearing these. Ended up selling em after that and never looked back

The KD11s were a letdown for sure. Nike only specifically improved and focused on the cushioning, but failed to solve the other issues found in the KD10s. Maybe this shoe was made to fit KD himself, but it clearly does not appeal to a casual basketball player. The cushioning is comparable to that of the LeBron 15s, but it's other aspects are quite disappointing.

Nightwing , I have the all black colorway of these sneakers & must say , the solid compound rubber is much more durable & works great on dusty courts ! I’m a college athlete & I have also tried the translucent & I must say , the solid rubber made the shoe better

I tore my ACL in these shoes and while you can't blame the shoe solely, I can definitely say that the containment issues mixed with an unexpected tipped ball definitely contributed.

I think nowadays there is only a handfull of really great sneakers that perform great. I'd say the Kyrie 4 is one, I am a huge fan of the LeBron 15 because of the cusion setup and the hard flynit (battlenit lol) and then I have to say that my favourite shoe to play in is actually the Jordan 13 and the Lebron 11. The AJ13 is just a rugged, amazing performer all around, with great materials and support, and the Lebron 11 for me is the most underated performance shoe there is out there. It's just an amazing sneaker as the Posite just never breaks but keeps you locked in, the Lunar-Zoom setup is just amazing and crazy comfortable and it doesn't hurt that the design is just nuts, I love it. I know LBJ hardly ever played in them, and it was a bad look, but I love to play in them. Keep up the great work Chris!

Hey Andy, I really was never a huge fan of the Kobe line (Protros are great though) because I grew up and prefer more bulky shoes. However I did cop the In Your Face More Uptempos and thought "how the hell did we play in these back in the day" (me being 35 years old...). I love big full length cusion because I love the spring feeling (at size 12US 11UK 46EU I really need some...). The Lebrons have treated me really well (11s, 12s, 14s and 15s I got, love them all).

Don't be scared away from this shoe from this review. I have a pair and I'm a 51 year old 6'5 225lbs dude and these are seriously comfortable. I'm not cutting and dicing like I did back in the day but I can grab a board or two and land on these all day long and it keeps me in the game b/c of the added cushion. Remember KD doesnt even sometimes lace up his shoes becuz he evidently has serious pain on his upper arch and his toes are mangled. This is not a 1 or 2 mans shoe. It's def a 3 or 4. Not a 5. If you like to drop dimes and set a couple screens and shoot threes this shoe is for you.

I was very excited to try the kobe protro on and the adidas next level which was the laceless shoe. Im an avid fan of this channel and those shoes were highly endorsed. I was pretty much disappointed with both shoes trying them on and ended up buying the kd11s instead. I think nightwing is right when he said it might differ from one person to another. I realized i have a long foot and high arch so some shoes would choke the blood flow to my foot causing it to numb. The kd11s has just the right pressure and it was extremely comfortable.

Bro I was gifted these shoes earlier this year and I never felt comfortable in them, I felt as if I was sitting on top of the shoe instead of being contained in the shoe and I made a hard cut to the basket and my foot flexed around the midfoot area like it wanted to roll over but in a bad, funky type of way... I immediately stopped and took them and have been examining them ever since. The midfoot area is the worst as there is no support and lock down is abismal at best... Whoever designed these shoes should test there designs better because these were straight trash and that's disappointing from a shoe that aestetically looks good... Cushioning is good but it feels like I'm walking on seriously hard rubber because there is literally no give, also I had to change the insoles several times... Thanks for the review man, I know that I'm a year or so late but it's spot on.

I had a similar situation on my first wear of these, 2nd wear I really cranked the laces and they felt better. I found the cushion really good as you said and the grip was good too. (Court is refinished every 18 months or so.) Pain in the ass to get on.

The proof KD 11 sucks, KD never used this in the last nba finals. Not even once. He still sticked himself using kd 10. Unlike last year, KD 10 was introduced in the Finals and KD used the blue colorway. I salute you Nightwing for the great review! My bad, I bought one of this, the kd 11 eybl. Probably i will just use this for malling.
