the loss of the thick tongue is such a good move on his part, 2 main reasons skaters don’t wear sb’s as much is bc the cost and how hard they are to find as well as performance all skaters are used to paper thin insoles for the best board feel but i always liked sb’s more. i hated the overly fat tounge tho bc it made it harder to lace up and kinda overly cushiony towards the toe box and made ollie’s or heel flips feel super weird

Back when I skated I always preferred etnies or Lakais. Sb's were always hard to get, but my best friend let me have his prods, and I beat them into the ground. Now I'm a sneakerhead, and will beat these into the ground in a different way 🔥

I really like the simple look of them and would prefer the white stock laces. The details are well chosen and Yuto deserves every bit he archieved the last year. He is mindblowing. What i dont like is the slim tongue. Recently many colourways come with slim tongues made of different materials. I love puffy tongues and must say that the new court purple orange labes sb low is look much nicer. (: Its all matter of taste. Also 130 dollar retail is too much for this dunk. I have the run the jewels and the crushed dc and they are in the same price range. As a skateboarder who loves riding sb dunks for nearly 20 years now i prefer used highs which are way more cheaper and skate really good with extra ankle support.

Tbh bro resell wasn’t that bad if you got in on them a few days ago - I even copped an extra pair from stock x for £300 all in ($350) which I don’t think is that bad considering this shoe will be $400 $450 early next year

The white leather is really good quality. It’s just a thick cut, and you can see that on the right and left edges of the toebox where it feels like the leather puffs up a bit

The comments about the tongue thickness are all wrong. Nike sb had a whole era for thin tongues like the IW sea crystals, wasn’t that rare back in the day. And Yutos are the same thickness as CSC, noise aquas, mystics reds. That’s the new sb tongue for most releases going forward

A great shoe, im lucky to get it retail and i love the versatility. My only gripes, if i must nit pick, there are very small (but not abnormal for nike) defects, such as tiny glue stains and a thread wasnt terminated correctly and its left long. Easy fix. I do wish the white side panels were made of the same, softer leather as the white on the toe. Still a great shoe after all that being said

I compared it to a few diff sbs but not the 4s -‘I’ll do that today but my initial impressions are it’s not as soft, it’s a diff grain and has been processed differently to the sb4 - it’s not horrendous I just think it’s not as premium as the other materials

late to the vid, i think these are fantastic. Obviously didn’t hit. buuuutttt, i recently picked up the jordan 1 low sneaker day korea “magpie” and can’t believe there is absolutely no talk about them. the quality is fantastic and has a similar killer colorway. I know it’s not a dunk low SB. and for some reason no one goes after Jordan one lows anymore, but if you’re looking to save “150 bucksssss” maybe check them out.

It’s a clean colourway, you have to consider wearability and these are very simple - the pink and brown also give off the stussy sb vibe which has become a grail sb to a lot of people but you’re right in that these prob wouldn’t have been as popular if they weren’t a collab and weren’t limited
