It’s surprising to me that Adidas beat Nike to putting a carbon plate in a football boot, after the controversy with Nike’s carbon plate running shoe (the vaporfly I think it was called) a few years ago

For me, Nike wins. This is only because of the ag stud patterns. Being someone who plays on ag a lot, I need a solid ag stud pattern. Nike’s ag and fg sole plate is identical (all the same technology and features), other than multiple conical studs. For adidas, not only do they not make many ag stud patterns available regularly. They’re ag stud pattern is lazy. Being used as a filler for all if they’re football boots, containing nothing from the normal fg pattern used in the speedflows.

AG study are a marketing scam. Look at pro in the MLS and USL. Everyone is using FG studs in artificial grass. Studies show that there's little to no difference in prevalence of injuries between the two studs.

Thx for this awesome comparison! For me that anatomic sole from Nike was uncomfortable at the beginning especially combined with the narrow tighter fit, and depending how much you use the boots it might take weeks or months to wear them in. I found that I would tend to loosen up the laces around the mid point to make anatomic sole a little more comfortable.

There's a trick to break in shoes quickly , wear them and fill a tub with medium hot water and walk in them and flex the shoes in them they will mold to your shoe size

Just got my speed flow in the mail. Compared to the Mercurial 14s, the speed flow just fits my foot better. Both are great boots but he is really accurate when it just comes to preference. My right foot is a tad bigger. The mercs felt like they were squishing my toes too much while the speed flow has a roomier toe box that does just the trick for my feet (comfort and fit-wise)

U forgot to mention the warranty on 9n each boot which is very important and also that adidas doesn't offer an True AG stud pattern. I know how u feel about the stud pattern uuse on AG but thats men and men don't suffer near as many knee Injuries as women. I think that's another big factor.

ive had a pair of vapor 14's and to be honest, they were amazing... for a month. After that point i noticed major discomfort on the arch of my foot, i checked like 100 times and nothing was there, it was just the boot. Also being a guy that buys one boot per year, the 14's didnt hold up well, they got ripped and that anatomic stud pattern, or whatever you call it, literally fell apart, like currenly ive just counted 2 studs falling off. But still regadless of all those issues i still played well with them and they also looked very cool. 2 days ago i orederd some X speedflow.1's, and im very excited to see what theyre like :))

@@HiltonFen so i got the speedflows yesterday, waited till i could play so i can reply to this comment. I feel like theyre amazing, my first impressions are that way better than the vapors. at first theyre a little stiff, but after some playing they mould into your foot shape so well and now they fit like a glove. the carbon soleplate is also really cool, when you sprint you can really feel it. the shoes are also super light and the touch on the ball is super clean and satisfying. really good pair of shoes:)
