The Nike AF1 GTX (or Gore-Tex Air Force 1) is an update to last year's version. It's a collab which brings not just some aesthetic differences but extra performance in the form of Gore-Tex lining visible inside the shoe. We'll be testing how well that works and going over some of the other differences.

I have the Nike React GTX and they’re really comfortable. I’ve heard that they may make a triple black color way that may be more your style. I used them for the first time in the rain while walking my dog and running errands the other day and after a ton of rain I felt inside the toe box with my hand and felt a very slight dampness like how you described.

@@Rqidz kinda late but let me answer for you since i has them for more than 1 year, yes they feel indeed better than the regular ones , and theyre super waterproof except the laces area , but i dont recommend wearing them in the summer mostly because waterproofness is not needed. Your feet wont get too hot , dont worry about it since theyre not that non- breathable , but still

@Habib Ahmed air forces crease the worst out of all the Silhouettes (aj1s, dunks, court vision) they all crease but af1s age the worst. I think it's cause they're just a bigger shoe but the goretexs are great for that cause the leather ages like a lunar force 1. And since it has no leather toebox the aging looks pretty good and or easier to put something in there to flatten it out again.

@Alan Wilson from what I understand an 8.5 should be good if you are pretty true to size for 9, I'd also check stockx for buying them, because theyre like 30-50 dollars cheaper than retail on there (atleast for the green pair)

@@zakc5158 pretty similar to how a regular air force one would crease, after a good year of wear they are surprisingly not as creased as you'd think and since the toe box isnt leather you notice it much less, but i also enjoy how this kind of shoe and leather looks creased

Shit, I dream of a hybrid between those, the GTX Highs from N19 and Special Field Mid and High ones. That would be like the ultimate techwear AF1 in existence. The gore-tex, grippy sole with all of the straps, zippers, bells and whistles. One can only dream tho:(

Would've been nice if they had put the (ACR) Lunar Force midsole on it. Which is one of the most comfy soles I've walked on. I actually rarely take out my DAFs, even though I think they look super cool, walking in them is really not that pleasant IMO

You do have to admit though, that nike didn't use glue to make the sole more waterproof, as stitching is not a weakpoint, if the stitches are glued shut with tape. Stitching is more durable and nike still used cheap glue in order to make their planned obsolescence possible. The glue will come apart after 2 years no matter how careful you are with the shoes.
